· Board !~ere present except ,Mr. Blair.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
Warrant No. 2, totalling $20,155.24 was presented by Town Acct.
Barrett and checked and approved by the Board.
An application was received from Mr. William Moss dba Nantucket
Dairy for a Pasteurization permit and it was voted to
make an inspection of the premises.
A letter was received from Justin A. McCarthy acknowledging
receipt of various lengths of hose which had proved
defective at the coupling on test and advisingk that
same had been returned to the factory and that he would
advise us as to the report received.
An application was received from Mrs Gilbertg Burchell Sr. re-
questing a Common Vict..license at a small stand she
was constructing at her property on Milk St. extension
it was voted that we could not approved same until the
premises were ready for inspectionand to so advise Mrs.
Burchell.
On request of Chief Ho~es, John J. Roche was appointed a Sp. Po-
lice officer to serve at the Nantucket Boys Club.
A petition was received requesting that we name the circle at
the head of Main street, Caton Circle and same was referre,
to the County Clerk.
An application was received from Albert L. Silva dba Milestone
Mtrs for a renewal of his Class I used car dealers license
and same was voted approved.
Nantucket Pharmacy Inc. was granted a renewal of ~ts Common Vict.
and Ice Cream licenses.
A notice was received from the Army Eng. of the pet. of the
Marine Service Inc. to construct a travel lift crane in
Nantucket Harbor at its Boai yard and advising k that if '
same would effect navagation weshould protest by 16 Jan.
It appearing that same was in a location where navigation
would not be effected same was filed.
Mr. Dennis Dias was granted a renewal of his Common ¥ict and Ice
Cream licenses at Surfside Rd. Nantucket Mass.
An opinion was received from the Town Counsel relative to an
article in the warrant relative to acceptance ~f a certain
ch. and section of the Gen. Laws relative to a five day
week for.police depts, and advising that wordage of the
Finance Committee stating that they felt this should apply
to all town depts, was dictum and not a part of the article
Mr. Walter Hatch was granted a renewal of his Ice Cream License
at Lower Orange St. Nantucket Mass.
The Board discussed the radiators at our Island Home and it app-
earing that same could be improved by the installation of
air vents on the radiators it was authorized that Ralph
Bartlett and Son be instructed to do this work on one
section of the bldg. to see how it would work out.
The Board went over various articles for the annual town meeting
and at 10.15 PM on motion duly made and seconded voted
that the warrant for the annual town meeting be closed.
