19 Dec. 1957 ..... 7.30 PM~
The meeting came to order at 7.30 PM, present Ch. Pease, Mr.
Glidden and Mr. Barrett.
Absent~ Mr. Hardy and Mr. Blair.
Warrant No. 51, totalling $40,913.72 was.presented by Town
Acct. Barrett and checked and approved by the Board.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
Town Clerk, .Coffin was presentcand went over with the Board the
political calander for the year 1958, and same was agreed
upon as compiled by the Clerk. date of annual town meeting
being set for Tues Feb. 25th with the election on Monday
the 24th.
Mr. Arthur Desrocher, C. D. director conferred with the Board
and presented articles for insertionin the annual Warrant.
Mr. Nestor Richards, pres. of the Fishermen~ Asso. conferred
with the board and presented articles compiled by the asso.
for insertion in the town warrant.
On recommendation of Town Acct. Barrett it was voted to request
the Finance Committee to transfer from the reserve fund
to the following accounts the following amounts:
Dis. Assistance administration ........ 83.95
Article 110 11.02
Town Bldg. account 100.00
Island Home account 753.19
L. L. Sewer operation 500.00
$1448.16
Notice was received and filed, from the Historic Districts Comm.
of their approval of a signa at the business of Earl Lowell
on Center St. town.
A letter was received from Mr. George Jones, Ch.of,~the 300th
Anniversary Committee requesting that the Board approve-
the extension of the contract with Mr. Teran for Jan. & Neb.
there being sufficient funds for this purpose. After dis-
cussion it was voted to request a report on progress being
made on this matter.
The'Navy Wives Club was granted.a permit for a dance at the Grang~
Hall on the 27th from 8 to 12 PM
A notice was received from the Sankaty Head Golf Club Inc. that
the club liquor license would not be in use from 1 Jan to
15 March 1955.
Mr. Albert Silva applied for a renewal of his Class 1 used car
dealers license and same was approved.
A'letter was received from Rudolphe Bessette in reply to ou~
letter in re: Broad creek crossing and advising that Mr.
Hannon would contact us relative to coming down and going
over the area after the holidays.
It was voted that there'be no regular meeting of the Board next
week.
There being no further business the meeting adj. at 9.30 PM.
