Minu~es 0f t~e" previous meeting were read ana approved.
Warrant NO. 43, 't'otalling $23,049.87 was presented by Town Acct.
Barrett and checked and approved by the Board.
An application for a pole location on Commercial-St. by the Gas
and tlectric Co. was received notices having been sent and
no objections having b~en recorded same was approved.
A letter was received from the Supt. o£ streets relative to our
inquiry as to hedges and placed on file.
A request was received from the Pire Chief for a short leave in
order to visit Elmira N.Y. and make an inspection of the
new La Prance pumper before same is shipped;' this at the
expense of the LaFrance Co. Same was 'approved.
The Legion AUx. was granted a permit for a Poppy day on Sat. g Nov
1957.
It was noted that some bricks about one of 'the small trees on
Main street needed resetting and this matter was referred
to the Supt. of Streets.
A petitio~n was received from the Mass Citizens Comaittee enclosing
information and requesting signatures on a bill to correct
various inequities in the state retirement laws. Same was
signed by the Board./
There being no furthJr business the meeting adjourned at 8PM.

Ruth Renaud was granted approval of a $35.00 grant to
move from her present location to Broad street"where
she hopes to be able to rent rooms and have some income.
I'~ was voted that the Board at our Island Ho~e of HOrace
P. Jernegan be $20.00 per week and he to do any work as
may be needed.
It was voted that the Board at Our Island Home for Mrs
Arthur Johnsen be set at $30.00 per week. ~
