Barrett and checked and ~approved by the Board. Minutes of the previous meeting wer?_read~, and~ approved. A petitio, n for new pole 16catibns was presented' by the Tel & Tel and GaR Co. on New Lane,-and Bartlett Rd. and date'for hearing se~ for,_n~x~t m~et.ing 29 Aug. . ~ Mildred'Jewett a~d Walter HEtdh'w~re° granted renewal of their respective soft drink and ice cream licenses. A letter from Mr. Chs j Flan~agan ~eportiug a defective sidewalk condition on Liberty street was referred'to the Supt. of streets. Mr. Frank Sylvia was gr~a.nt, ed a renewal of his auctioneers license The Navy Wiles'Club Was granted a permit for a~ dance at Bennett Hall on Aug. 94th from 8 to 19. It was vot~'d~to ad~vertise for~ bids on the constrdction of annex- terior stairway at the' ~ear 6f the comfort station bldg. bids to be in by 9.9 Aug. 8PM. ~. A petition wa'~'rscei~ed f~om various residents'~rotesting any furthe'~ spraying ~0ver their respectiv_e properties for ~the elimination or'mosquitoes and voted referred to the Mosquito control commission. The Sias6onset~casino Assb Was granted-~a~permit ~fo~ a dance on Fri. 23 Aug. from 9Pm to 2AM on Sat. the 24th. The Board~ ~as i~ re6eipt' of two applications for Approval of sightseeing bu§ rsutes on~"from Towhtll and Chase'and'0ne f~om Chester'S. Barrett, same were examined and approved by the Board. With reference to the same m~tter'of sightseeing busses, it was voted~to ma~e Park StJ in Siasconset~ no parking either side to'f~cilitate the'pas~ag~ 6f~busses.,-and to request the Supt.~ of streets~to correct a low spot at the corner of New and Park streets. Mr. Dan connell was gr~nted a permit for a dance on Fri, the 23rd at L~gi0n Hall ~nst~ad of Sat the 24th as previously authort~ The Board discussed the matter~of various changes in the physical layout at t.he Jetties Bea6h ~nd the'advisability of closing the present childrens b~acti°at Harbor view way as a beach and running'a bulkhead~ across the front,-loaming over t~he present sand and making the area~a public park with trees and settees with small finger piers running out from the bulkhead to accomdate~ private boats in~ the summer and for us. of local scall~p~fleet in the winter. It was suggested'that w~ should contact the DPW a~d inquire as to a shrv~y or.this matter to debermine §ome idea~of the co~t.~It Was al~so suggested that ~e s~o ~u~ ~ ~equest ~h~ Y,ac. ht.C.l,ub t..o a~l~OmW_l~__, us~of the ~atwalk ~longside the Steamsnzp Authority for use of local boatman~in the winter months.
