The matter of discussion was the proposed license Prequested by the Authority from the'DPW for the construction of a 4ft catwalk alongside the presnet Auth. Bulkhead for the use of the Yacht club.~ It was pointed out that the Yacht Club had a catwalk walk in the area presently occuppied by the new solid fill const, of the Authority and that in the ne- gotiations between ,the Auth. and the Club it had been agreed that the club would be provided'a replacement area along the top of the new bulkhead. After same was built the authority decided they needed all the area constructed and had con- sequently applied for this permit to build this catwalk out side the present new btulkhead. The operation would be within the 65ft easement granted to the authority by the town. The matter of whether the authority could legally const, this item with public funds for use of a private organization ~and whether it could set off the area for exclusive~as ~ discussed but the main contention of the Board was that this was the fisrt time any of us had been aware of this matter at all and that we felt it was in very poor taste that the town had been ignored. It was the sense of the meeting that we withold filing any objection to the granting of the lic. with the DPW/ Adj. 6.05 PM.
