All members'of the Board lpresent. ~,
Warrant No. ll totalling $26j005.25 was presented ,by Town Acct.
~Barrett and checked and approved by the Board with the
exception of various S~wer Dept. bills which were only
signed by one member of the commission and held~ out.
Minutes of the previous meeting were checked and approved, with
one correction.
Shellfish Warden Wiuslow was present and conferred with the Board
stated that he had made a survey of the soft shell clam ,
stock and felt that hither creek in Eadaket had a good'set
and possibly the West harbor in Polpis. The matter was dis-
cussed as to whether to open the whole islend, certain areas
and whether it would be better to open in the spring and
fall, no decision was reac~ed and on motion made and 2nd
it was voted to table the matter for one week.
Shellfish Warden winslow was re-appointed as a Shellfish
and was authorized to attend the Shellfish wardens
or annual meeting in Boston this month.

0n motion made and seconded it was voted to award the con-
tract to the lowest bidder Justin A. McCarthy.

Cbs. H. Clougherty was the lowest bidder except thst he did
not specify the type'of ladder bid on and as there was a
wide disparity in the prices of the various aluminum ladder,'
Mr. Clougherty was called on the phone 'and stated that he.
bid on a heavy duty 3 section ladded according to the specs
submitted by the 'chief. It was voted that the contra~t be
awarded to C.l,ougherty on this condition. Nr. Blair being
recorded as opposed.

Inasmuch as the specifications on the' batteries did not
specify plates and guarantee it was felt that same was not fair
to either the bidder our ourselves consequently t~he bids on
the other equipment were filed, the Chief to submit new specs.
on the batteries to the two bidders, same to be in next meeting.
and inasmuch as only Island Chev. bid on the Briggs & Stratton
mtr. it was voted that this item be awarded to them.
Art. 54 painting and waterproofing central fire station.
As no bids were submitted on this the Chief was authroized to
have this work done as he sees fit on a regular job basis.
Bids were submitted on the new police cruiser as follows:

On the matter of a small~motor bike pick up for the- street cleaue:
only one bid was submitted by Al's Auto Sales & Set.
bid was in two parts:

tabled to allow the Supt. of streets to consult on this matt~
Mr. Josiah Barrett Reg. of Deeds submitted a request for 150.00
to install a sink at the Reg. for use in washing trays for
the photo copy machine. Secy. Glidden was appointed a comm-
ittee of one to look into this matter.
A copy of the bill authorizing retroact~be approval of the emp-
loyment of ~iarjorie Andrews iu the ADC 01d Age office was
received from REp. ~oouey and placed on file.
The following aloeholic beverage license rmenewal requests were
approved and voted to take the course prescribed by law:

Deck. ;Walter C. & Helen Hatch; Robert S. Backus, Wauwinet
· Clinton H. & Agnes M. ~urray.
A letter was received from the Sconset Water Commission requestin~
a transfer of ~.5,000 to carry them until there revenue start,'
coming in. It was voted ~that they Be requested to furnish us
with more specific information.
A letter from Congressman Nicholson was received stating that a
study had been authorized of Naut. harbor and same would be
started thi~ Soring. and enclosing a copy of a draft bill~
to hold any mo~eys now appropriated for Nantucket until such
a study, could be complted. It was voted that same be approve~
and Congressman Nicholson be requested to file same in our
behalf.
Routes of the sightseeing busses were received'as requested and
voted referred to Mr. Backus of the Steamship Authority.
Mr. Gordon ~f, acDoua'ld requested curb and sidewalk ou the N. side of 01d N. ~rnarf and same was placed on file.
Specifications for bidding on new c~r for town nurse were a.oprove~
and it was voted to adv. fo~, ~ids on same, to be in on March
28th.

period of three months.

it was felt that the To~ Nurse should be c~sulted on this
as to what would be needed.
Mr. Indio of the' Toxm crier a'sked for, i~ormatio~ relativ~
the orinting of forms for the Probate Court. and Ch. Pease,
advised that the Board had consulted with Judge Sullivan
on this matter that any,work being done had been stopped and
that the,necessary specifica2ious would be obtained to put
this matter out to bids.
