Barrett and checked and approved by the Board., Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. Mr. Leto Lamens, Nestor Richards and John Meilbye of the Fishermen Asso. were present and presented a petition in wh:.ch the Asso. had voted in favor of power hoisting of dredges in the taking of scallops for commercial use, with certain limitations as to weight, size of dredges etc all as set out in said letter. ~. Lamens suggested that the Board might adopt au order that if said regulations were not complied with that said right to use power hoisting be revoked. As this matter would apply to the next scallop season, it was Voted to table same at this time. The Asso also presented various legeslative bills with their recommendations and requested that the Board transmit same to ReP. l~looney. it was also recommended or suggested that Mr.-Nesto~ Richard: George Andrews, Leto Lamens and Chs Sayle be aopointed to the Committee to study Connnercial wharf, purchase etc.~. Warden Winslow was present and after discussion it was voted to have him make a survey of the soft shell claim situation add advise us. Mr. Edward 01derich was present and spoke on the matter of the street light near the Old Mill stated ~at he felt same 'was now in its best position. A letter was received from Frances Devens Par~ish relative to rights of way to the head of Sesechacha Pond. To~vn Acct. Barrett requested that we request the transfer of $131.84 from the reserve fund to the Blanket Ins. Acct. and it was so voted. A letter was received f~om Rep. I'~ooney stating the status of various legislative bills and placed on file. A letter was received being a copy of one sent,by the Sewer commission to one Philip Heywood relative to Sandwich Rd. and placed on file. A letter was received from Planned Playtime asking if the fire escape could be constructed at the rear of their quarters as soon as possible. Same was referred t o Jack Putterick. One bid' was received on Art. 4V furnishing and installing a heater at the Scouset fire and Police sra. from ISCO in the amount of $147.65 and same was voted approved. Naut. Gas & Elec. Co. were granted a permit to exceed the Wt. limits relative to transportation of a new deisel to be shipped when the new ferry is i~ operation, they to advise us further of the exact date etc. ISC0 was granted a permit to e~.ceed the wt. limits Sat. iu the matter of tr~nsportingtank trucks_ of oil from Steamboat ' wharf to there property, made necessary by the tug boat strike in NY. route S. On motion made and seconded' it was voted that the Secy. be and is authorized to sign licenses and permits in the Boards behalf.
