The meeting came to order at V.40 PM all members of the Board
being present.
Warrant No. V, totalling $21,539.85 was presented by Town Acct.
Barrett and checked and approved by the Board.
'Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
M~. William Winslow Shellfish Warden requested that areas in
Polpis Harbor and Madaket Harbor presently closed, be
opened and on motion made and seconded it was so voted.
'~r. Winslow reported that SVO0.00 had been expended iu
purchasing starfish in the shellfish predator control
program.
Mr. Augustus W. Roche was present and requested use of a room
in the Sanford House for meetings twice a months for an
Airforce Reserve Unit. It was voted that said group be
authorized to use the Selectmens rooms on Friday evenings
for this purpose.
A letter was received from Clarence Sterling, Sanitary En.,g. with
the state DPH now on leave of absence, offering his service
as consultant in sanitary matters etc. same was placed on
file.
A letter was received from the office of the Governor inviting
the Board to attend the Washington Birthday ceremonies at
the state house.
A letter was'received from W. ~ilman Low protesting the paving
on Nonantum Ave. in Surf side.
A letter was received fro~ R p. Mooney enclosing ~arious bil'ls

relative to the steamship authority.
Mr. Albert L. Silva was granted a Class I used car dealers lic.
at the Milestone Service station.
A request was received and approved from Ens. Kipp welfare &
. recreation officer at the Naval Facility for a dance at
legion hall on Feb. 16th from 6 to 12.
The Board discussed the matter of a planned car reservation
ticket booth by the ~Steamship Auth. and voted to w~ite
~Ir. Look Gen. Mgr. of the Authority requesting that same
be located well down the new approach area so as not to
cause a traffic problem at the corner of Beamh and Broad
streets.
The Board discussed the matter of au office for Mr. John ~'iorgan
Civil Defense Dir. and it was suggested that'space in the
fo~mer Welfare Dispensers. office might be available.
~r. Thomas Norcross was present and requested that the Board ta!
some action to prevent the parking of cars on the sidewalk
leading to the Jetties Beach.
Naut. PhaEnacy Inc. was g~anted a renewal of its Common ¥ict.
and Ice cream licenses.
It was voted- to requeste a special meeting with t he Finance
Committee on Fri. at 4.30 PM.'
There being no further business the meeting adj. at 9.30 PM.
