The meeting came to order at V.~0 ~N ~all~ members of the Board
except ~.~. 'Burge4ss being present.
Warrant No~ 4, ~totallin~ $i~,~16.~V was ~r~sented by Town Acct. ~ Barrett and checked~and approved by the Board.
Ninutes of the previous meeting w~ere re~d and approved.
Nr. Robert R. Le~sk~e Jr. and Nr. John Norgan ~r. past and present~
local Civil defense directors were present and conferred
with the Board relative to the problems of C. D. on the
Island. Nr. Leske pointed out his~ifficul~ies in'getting
cooperation f~om Capt. ~Williams the area director as regards
matching funds and other problems. After disc~ussion it was
voted to write Capt. Williams,, advise him of the appointment
of Nr.. Norgau as local director, request immediate assistanc,
relative to matching funds on the generator:voted~by ~he torn
and request that he draw up an outline of what he feels thi~
town should have in the way of a Co D. structure.
The Board was iu receipt of a formal notice of the petition of
the Nant. Gas &Elec. Co. to increase its~stock the same to
be heard by the DPU on Jan. ~0th at the state house.
