The meeting came to o~der at 7.30 PI~ff all m~mbers of the Board
, except Mr. Hardy being present~.
Warrant No. 51, totalling $16,284.84 was presented by Town Acct.
Barre~t~t~t and checked and approved by the Board.
Minutes of the previous meeting were approved.
A copy of Sstimated cost of water for fire protection for the
year 195V was submitted by the Wannacomet Water Co. the
Board discussed one item namely the chaz, ge of ~25.00 for ~
maintenance on each hydrant which totalled almost $5,000.00
It was felt that this should be discussed with the Finance
Committee and the Water Co.
Mr., Robert Backus of the Steamship Authority wrote'advising that
he had taken up our complaint as regards cleanliness of
staterooms on the boats with the Gen. k~gr. ~r. Look.
A letter was received from the chamber of commerce outling vsr-
ious matters which they~were interested in and offering
any assistance they might render as regards said matters.
It was voted that the next regular meeting of the Board be held
on Thurs 2V Dec. 56.
An application for the position of Town Physician was received
from Wylie L. Collins ~'i.D. and tabled temporiarily.
Mr. Deland Topham was granted a renewal o£ his peddlers 'li~eu~se
There being no further business the Board Went into executive
session to discuss welfare matters and adj. at 9.15 P~.
Welfare: It was~v~ted to authorize'an overdraft tO be made~ iu
the island Home account pending a transfer from the
~ , reserve fund.
