The meeting came to 0'rder at 7.30 P~ all members of~'the Board
except ~r. Coffin being present.
Warrant No. 48 totalling $125, 2'5V ]38 was presented by Town Acct
Barrett and checked and approved by. the Board.
I.~inutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
A letter was received from the Trans. Committee requesting'that
we have our ~ep. file two bills one to revoke H.690 passed
in 1956 and another to be substantially as a bill we pre-
viously filed No. H 1252. On motion made and seconded it
was so voted I~r. Burgess abstaining.
i letter was received from the ~istoric~l isso relative to'the
celebration of Nautuckets 300th anniversary and voted
referred to the public relations committee. ~
A form letter was received from Gov. Herter asking support for
Hungarian relief and placed on file.
Renewal applicationss for alcoholic beverage licenses were
received from, James T. Worth Inc. Nantucket Island Prod-
ucts In~.. Clinton & Agnes ~Iurray, Spa Cafe, Antone John
Souza and Walter and Helen Hatch, and voted to take the
course prescribed by law.
The matter o£ trailers was again discusse~ ~aud it was suggested
that one solution might be to have rates high enough on
the steamship line to m~ke same prohibitive.
~nere being 'no further business the Board Went into executive
session to discuss welfare matters and adj. at 9.15 PM.
Welfare:
The :Board discussed the matter of amount gr~nted on' food
orders the present amount being SV,00 per week for one ,~
person and ~2.50 for one'a additional person in the family
and over one-additional $1.50 for each additional. . .
It was voted after discussion t o establish a new base rate
of $9.00 per week for one person with the same sli~ing
scale as before. ~ ~
