Warrant No. 47, .totalling $5,149.62 was presented by Town Acct. -Barrett and checked and approved by the Board. Renewal applications for 2looholic beverage licenses were receiw from Harold and Felemena Ryder and Sankaty Golf Club Inc. and voted to take the course prescribed by law. A let'ter was received from congressman Nicholsen reporting on the matter of funds for harbor improvement. A letter to the Harbor Master 1,Ir. Blount acknowledging the letter to the Bonnet committe hearing in re: regulations on small boats was received and filed. A letter and bill on the installation of the fire alarm system box at the whaling museum was received and approved in accordance with the vote of the town. A petition for a license to store 'gas in underground tanks at its pit property was received from the Naut.'Const. Co. ,It was voted to adv. same and to have a hearing at llA~I Frid 30 Nov. at the site. The Board approved the request for a'2 week vacation to Andrew Lewis caretaker of the dump. Mr. Lewis advising that he ' would have I'~.r., 0ttison on the job in his absence. It was voted to make Silver street no parking from Orange to Pi~e The matter of budgets was'discussed and it was decided to have the town acct. request various depts to submit their budgets as early as possible. It was voted to have au inspection by the Board to discuss & make recommendations as voted by the town of the Fire Dept. 'on Tues at 7.30 PM. (later cont. till Thurs the 29th) .The matter of an extension of lower ~¥ash. street Was ~isucsse~ and it was voted to have the Supt. of streets 'look into this matter. -~ Mr. Burgess brought up th~ matter of the._dump which was discussed as regards various phases. Mr. Burgess'stated that Nfs. Arthur C. H~ydeu had reeuested that the ~ellow lines be removed fram around her property. It was voted to have the Supt. of streets look into this and report ou the background. There being no further business the meeting adj. at 9. PM. James K. Glidden, Secy.
