Barrett and checked and approved by the Board~ Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. Mrs Cbs swain, Mrs Robert Leske and M~s Austin Tyrer repre Planned Playtime were present and requested that they be allowed to use an additional room upstairs iu the bldg they occupy; same was approved. ~They also requested use of a gas heater and it was voted that they be allowed to remove the heater presently iu the cell block at the old police station which is not used. They also stated that Fire Chief Bartlett had advised that various changes in the doors at Hoosier house were necessary and the Board .suggested that Secy. Glidden and Cheil Bartlett go over same to deteEnine just what had to bedone. A letter was received from Congressman Nicholsen advising of work done on ou~ request to hold an appropriation for dredging for a jetty and stating that he would advise us further. A letter was also received from Senator Saltonstall enclosing a letter he had received from the Army Eng. the Board had received substantially the san~ informatinn from Cong. Nicholsen. It was sugested that we write Congressman Nich- olsen and ask his advice on filing a bill to hold this moue A letter was received from Elwyn Francis Sr. thanking the Board for his appointment as Dep. shellfish warden. A letter was received from Marshall T. Miltimore relative to a traffic parking condition on Silver street and referred to ~the police and high~w~y dept. Mr. Alan Mac,tuber was granted a~permit to move two bldgs from the N. to S. side of Hulbe~t Ave. H. Moriu mover. ~It was voted that all liquor establishments be ~closed during polling hours on election day. _~ Mr. Albert Johnsen was granted a ~permit to transport garbage~ ~ iu the town of Nantucket.
