The 'meeting ~came to o~ier at 8,t5 PM having been preceeded by
a County Commissioners Meeting, all members of the Board
being present.
Warrant No. 40, totalling $21,970.50 was presented'by Town Acct
Barrett and checked and approved by the Board.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
Mr. Natthew Jaeckle supt. of streets and M~. Topham and Mr.
Winslow reported on the underwater weed cutter, stated
that same had been hooked up and tried out and worked
very well. They felt that with a better boat than'the one
they had used it would be much easier to work. Mr. Topham
stated he was looking into the matter of a suitable boat.
and would report.
G. M. Poland Esq. was present with his client M~. Thurston
as regards the garbage transportation permit which had
been granted or ordered by the Superior Court and demanded
that same be issued. The Board stated~they first desired
to meet with counsel Sanguinetti and on motionm de and
seconded it was voted to have a Sp. me&ting with the Town
Counsel at 11.30 AM tomorrow, thursday.
Mr. William Winslow, shellfish warden, and Mr. Snow of the
Fishermens Asso. were present and discussed wtththe Board
the approaching commercial scallp season. It was the
recommendation that ~the regulations, limit, fee etc be
all the same as last season. ~
Mr. Snow also suggested that the buoys in madaket harbor
be painted yellow to improve visability of same.
The matter of the transfer of the alcoholic beverage license
from John Anastos dba as Nantucket~Spa to C. George Anasto~
dba Nantucket Spa was before the board the same having
been duly advertised, no objection being made it was voted
that same be approved and forwarded to the ABCC.
Planned Playtime~was'granted'a peEnit to hold a well child clin'
on Nov. 14th and 15th as in previous years.
Mr. Harold Lindley was~granted~a~per~it'to erect a staging at
the Ships Inn properties on'~air street.
Applications were received'f~Elv~yn Francis and Frank Miller
for appointment as deputy shellfths warden. No action was
takenon same at this time,until the Board had consulted
with the Shellfish Warden Mr.~ Winslwo.
A letter was received f~0m~the Chambefof Commerce relative to
re~airs to the floor and walls,' the question of money
was discussed, it appearing that the tov~ and county bldg.
appropriation was most used up it was suggested that Mr.
Putterick look at same and see what could be done.
There being uo further bus'ness the Board went into executive
session to discuss a welfare matter and adj. at 10.1~ Pm
