Barrett and checked and approved by the Board. Minutes Of the previous meeting were apProved. Members of the finance committee and the fishermens asso. met' with the board to discuss the matter of the federal appro-~ priation for harbor dredging. It was the cousencus of opini( that this money was not needed for d~edging but would serve a better purpose if it could be used for a jetty across Hussey shoal. The Board read letters~ it had sent to Sen. Saltonstall and Congressman Nicholsen and it was voted to send one also to Sen. Kennedy. Mrs Mary Grimes and Mrs Helena Caldwell were appointed public weighers to serve at the Island Service Co. The Board approved the 01d Peoples Home as a home for the aged and signed the necessary forms for forwarding to the state. An application was received from John Anastos and George Anastos for a transfer of the all alsoholic beverage li. cense held by John Anastos dba the Spa Cafe to C. George Anastos who is purchasing said business. It was voted that same take the course prescribed by law. The Town nurse reported that she had to obtain new garage fac- ilities and it was voted that she be authorized to obtain quarters suitable to her at the same cost as at present. The Board then 'went into executive session to discuss with town counsel Sanguinetti various land damage cases which might come up at the approaching sitting of the superior cou~t~ ~ After discussion the~ town counsel was authorized to settle the Manuel Morris case for not in excess of 800.00 and the~ Clifford Ryder case for not in excess of $200.00 this latte~ to include any nights in the portion the Comnissioners had recently voted to take for drainage. ~, The matter~ of the application of Mrs Teresa Dennis for admission to 0uF Island Home was discussed and it was voted that skme be approved, board ~15.00 The Board was in receipt of a letter from Ptre Chief Bartlett in which he replied to the questions prop6un~ed to him by the board and which were accepted by all members of the Board except M~.
