Coffin being present. warrant No~ 28, totalling $28,V93.53 Was presented by Town A'cct. ~ Barrett and checked and approved by the Board. Minutes of the previous meeting were~ approved. I'.tr~ M~win Blount, 1,Vire Inspector and l',Ir. Snow Mgr. of the Gas ~& Elec. Co. met with'the .Board and discussed regulations of the~Co, with reference to there effect on the Wire Insp. it was pointed out that the new regulations were actually in conformance with what had been the practice and that couse. no difference would result. A letter and plan were received from the DPW division of ~waterways advising that the Congress had approved the s~u of $19~,~00.00 for dredging in Nantucket Harbor and advising that the town would have to contribute about l~,O00. After discussion it was felt that ~this sum could not fairly be spent in the area out- lined and it was voted to wr~te the DPW and request as to whether ~h~ amounts not used could be used for other dredging or harbor projects. The Board disucssed with Mr. Snow of the Gas &Elec. Co. lights on Prospect and S. Prospect streets and approved the sugg as ~uade by ~r. Snow. The ~oard previously having voted to it to their discretion to see that the area was ~roperly lit. The r~atter o_. Sunday entertairnnent stopping at ll PN ~as diSCUSsed on petition of rations restaurant and hotel owners~nd it apoearing~ ~n~t the law on sa~e had~ now ~been cheuMed· it was voted to allow same to continue to the regular closing hour. ~rs Clifford Smith, D~rryr~ore Rd. w~s granted a oer~uit to serve breakfasts to guests only. Mr. ~¥alter ~J. Glo¥~acki was g~auted a junk dealers license at Old South Rd. Mr. Robert P. Grimes was granted a taxi permit. A letter was received from the state h0usiug board advising of the ~ re,appointment of Seddon Legg Jr. as the st~te member of the local vet. housing board. Nr. Albert Johnsen Sr. was granted a~pe~mit to m0~e a bldg from ~ Pocomo to Washington St. he to notify the Police dept. A letter was received fro~ ~r. No,an Giffen ~gent at the Stea~b0a! Wharf requesting the~ appointment of I~. Edgar Liudstrom as a Sp. Police officer for duty at the wharf, after discussion it was voted to request Chief Ho'~es to inform us of any reasons he has for objecting to same. ~sther Gibbs, dba North Shore Rest. w~as ~ranted an entertaiur~eut permit~ for recorded music ou ~eek days only. The Board then went into executive session to discuss a welfare matter and adj. at 10.10 Welfare: Nfs Wagner, Island Home, voted to 0ay ~.00 oer month. voted Secy. confer with Mr. Josiah Barrett on the taking of land ou lower pleasant street for a water or surface drainage area
