27 June 1956
The meeting came to order at 8 PM present. ~Ch. Pease, members
Burgess and Glidden;~
Absent, Mr. SCoff in and Mr.~ Hardy.
5'Iinutes ~of the previous meeting were read ahd approved
Warrant No. 26, totalling $19,335.28 was presented ~ by To~rn Acct.
Barrett and checked and approved by the Board.
Mr. Josiah S. Barrett was present and conferred with the Board
relative to ways leading to the Town Beach at Diouess, it
was voted to vis'Lt the site on Sat. at lOASI.
A letter was received from the Tov~n CoUnsel relative to fees of
a Wire inspector, stating that the statute made no provision
fOr fees.
The following were granted entertainment license renewals:
Ocean House, ~iauo and records; Boat House, piano & records;
~,~ite Elephant, piano and ~ecords.
I¥Ir. Wm. Price wrote requesting per~r~ssion to hold the sidewalk
Art show on Broad street as in orevious years and same was
approved.
A letter was received from the Wannacomet '~'~ater Co. advising that
new mains were planned in Lily street and Williams street and
that au investigation was being made of other low pressure
spot~ we had written about and more information would be
furnished at a later date.
The Skipper Was ~granted a renewal of its Common Vict. license for
the ensuing year.
An application by ~Ir. John Rugge~s for an ice cream and ~soft drink
license at the former Snap Shop'on NSddle Pearl St. was
tabled.
A letter was redeived from ~. J. Driscoll 'asking that an area
across from the Wyer sto. ble about 40 ft long be n,~arked no
parking so that the ambulance could make the to~n out of
the garage. Another letter was~ received from Niss.Ellen ~
Ramsdell orotesting s~me and~ing that she had a gift shop
. there and~ preventing 'parkingC~ou].d injure her business. It
was voted to look at the area on Sat. AN.
~.r. William Feegan advised the Board that his lodging houses were
ready for inspection and it was voted to inspect same
at 10.30 A~.
It was voted'to Write the' ISC0' thanking them for the granting -of
the e~..sement on '~ash. street to the t o~n.
Hids were received on opening Sachacha Pond as follows:
Walter Glowacki, 'only bidder ~200.00 approved same t0 be
done under supervision of the Shellfish ~"~arden and pond to
run down before job reg~.rded as complete.
Bids on the Emergency Fire and Poli~e Generator were received as
follows:
Wm. Waine and Sons .$2,893.00
J. Gordon ~:lacDohald 2,520.70 Voted subject-to matchin
funds being received from the Civilian Defense Adm.
It was voted to write the Gas company ~lative to co~plaints on

It was voted to hold a special meeting with the Trans. Committee
Thurs at 4PN to discuss a recommendation to the Gov. of a
new member~ to the Steamship Authority.
The following regulations relative to garbage and refuse were
voted approved by the Board, and it was voted to advertise
sa~.e in both local papers.
There being no further business the Board went into executive
session and adj. at 9.45
