The meeting came to order at 7.~0 P~f all members of the Board
being present.
Warrant No. 16, totalling ~13~ 570.98 was presented by Town Acct.
Barrett and checked and approved by the Board.
~inutes Of the p~evious meeting were read and approved ~
An application was received from ~Ir. Wm. Feegan for a guest house
license at Westminster street and Hussey street and tabled
until the Board had an opportunity to inspect the premises.
~,~r. Harold Lindley wrote~ withdrawiflg his application foraa seasona
all alcbholic Inn_holders license at Orange street.~
The matter of public places allowing cons~aption of liquor on
their premises and the serving of set ups for same was br6ugh
up by ~r. Burgess and while no voted was taken it was the
sense of the meeting that we would determine this for our
in format i on.
A letter was received from ~r. Turner at the Wood Hole l~b. to
~,'~r. Winslow conmnenting on what he felt caused the ~quahog~.
sent him for examination to be in their present condition.
Stated he felt it to be due to decomposing organic ~natter
and or ~materials leaching out of the bottom.
~Ir. Prank Rose Jr. was granted a ~enewa! of his peddlers license
for the "Chuck Truck" and also a milk and ice cream and soft
dri~c license.
~grs Barbara' Gilbreth was granted a renewal of her !nnholders Lic.
at Anchor Inn. Center St.
Bids were received from the Nant. Const. Co;' a'nd Walter Glo~,acki
ou road work for the ensuing year. ~,,'[r. Glowacki ,only bid
on the Sealcoating, and this matter was not awarded at this
time till the board deduced~additiona]..infor_,~tion. The
balance~'of the contract as specified was awarded to The
Nantucket Const. Co. ~
The Board a0oointed Er.1 Harold Anderson, ~r. Albert Fee and re-
appointed I';~. Byron Snow to the Fiua,nce Comuittee to serve
for three years. .''
The matter of traffic and no parking regulations submitted by
Chief Howes and Supt. Jaeckle wasodiscussed and it was 'voted
to request Chief Howes and Supt. Jaeckle to meet with us
ne::t week to go over same.
The I~'~arrant for the. Presldeutial Primary was signed by the Board
and voted publ~.ohed as required by law, the election being
Tues the 24th of April at Legion Hall and the P~lls being
open a t VA~,I am_d clos lng at 5P},i.
I~ir. C. 'Gerald Snow, ~ir. Josiah S. Barrett and i',[r. J. Glidden
were appoluted~to a co;'muittee to investigate plans for a
new t o:,'~n and county office bldg.
