The meeting came t0~' order at ,~:.30 P~ a~l members of the Board
being pre~sent.~ ~, %
Warrant No. 15, tot~"iling $~2,i12.82,was presented ~by Town
Acct. Barrett and checked and approved by the Board.
Minutes of the previous meeting were ~prove~.

Brabec and Pangborn as regards their request for an,
Innholders license and requested in their behalf that
the Board reconsider their previous decision. No action ;
was taken on ~,is matter relative to said reque~st. ~
~,ir. Wihslow Shsllfish Warden and Mr~ Snow of the Fishermens
Asso were present and discussed the scallop survey nmde
last spring and what they felt to be its results. 'it was
voted to'authorize another survey,'same, to be made under
the supervision of the shellfish ¥~arden. ,.
Warden V~'inslow was authroiz~d to purchase 150 bu Of oyster
seed to place in Polpis West Harbor and Narrow Creek :

Nr. Snow of,the Gas and Elect. Coo'and~,~r. Hazard of Coppers
Inc. were~ present and Lit. Hazard explained to the B,?ard
the results' of experiments conducted by his~company in
an effort to utilize the tar by product of the local gas
plant. He stated bhat by adding certain additatives it
was ~ possible for this ,product to meet any Federal or
state specifications and sts~ted thathis co~r,.oany would
stand behind this .product if it were wuthorized to be
used by local road contractors. It was voted to change
the, specifications for the town road work,so as'to allow
the use~ of said tar or asphalt'acc0r~ding to the preference
of the conbractor.,
A notice was received f~om the DPW with reference to a'
on the,laying out,of'Tom uevers as a state highway.
Specifications for the pa~n~iug and reoairing Of the Sconset
Bus stand and the floor and door at the Sconset fire sta
were approved and it was voted to advertise same for bids
same to be in on 25 April 1956.
Various letters were received ~'
protesting the 'issuance of a
license to 38 Orange St. Ha~rold Lindley,aud pla ce on file.
The applications of ~lanual and Anna corera and MrS ~,tanchester
for rene~'~als of~ their seasonal all alcoholic beverage
were held~up pending opinion of the tov~n counsel
as to whether the board could delay action until after
any court actions.
The plan of, pr. opo~ed work ~at Straight ~¥harf by Lawrence
was received from the DPW and examined by the Board, with-
out any action.
Sp. p01ic$ appointments on approval 'of Chief H6we~s weremade
as follows:,,W. Reis Jr. and George Wilson.
Tovaa counsel ~anguiuetti wrote the Board as regards licenses
to transport garbage etc. and it was voted to refer the
matter back to him for additional information.
