Instructions to voters and z penalty cards were posted iu the booths. ~: ,- ?: :~- -,.~:~ *.~ The following ballot clerks were sworn ~u: George R. Grimes~' Herbert C. · "Wood, Franklin H. Thurston~ John H. Bartlett Jr., Ed%wln F. Sc~lly,. John ~J..' Driscoll Jr.; William B. H. Snow and Thomas J. Devine. Wesley A. ~ Fordyce was sworn in as Warden. '~ ' The ballots in three packages said to contain 2381 Official Ballots were ~ delivered to the Ballot Clerks and their receipt taken therefor...~ · ? The Ballot Box and Emergency ballot box were then opened for Publi¢"~1~'~'~ ~ Inspection. They were examined by Wesley A. Fordyce, Edv~n S. Sculley, Seddon W. Legg~ Charles Clark Coffin, and Constable Wendell H. Howes and found to be empty. The register on the ballot box was set at 0000~ ~both boxes locked and the keys turned over to Wendell H. HeweS, Eonstable. ~> Constable Howes then presented the Warrant for the State Election,. which ~ was read by the Town Clerk, Charles Clark Coffin, and at 6:30 A.N. the Polls At 8:45 A.M.,' 10:25 A.M., 12:55 P.M., 3:35 P.~. the Register on the ~ Ballot box standing respectively at 33~,~ 735, 1115, 1501, .the ballot box ~was opened by the Officials in charge and the ballots removed to. the :-~ · Emergency Ballot Box. .- '~ '~ .... :::~"~:~ .rAt 5:30 P.M~ the Polls were declared closed, the register on the ballot '. box standing at 1686. ~ The 'Absentee ballots were then checked and voted, the register then standing ?' at 1930.
