The~ meeting came to order at 9.08 PM ail members of t he Board
being present. , ,.
Wa~ant NO' 9.9 totalling 15V109.46 was presented by Town ACct.
Barrett and checked and approved by th~ Board. ~. ~.~
MinUtes ~f the p~vious-meeting were read :and'approved.
Mr. Clifford Ryder was present and mentioned a bolt sticking~
out of the"spiels at Madaket Pier, and the poaching of soft.
~. Ryder was primarily present to' request' info.nation on the
taking of 'land on Lower Pleasant street and the matter of
a drain which he claimed was being constructed so as to deposit
water on his property. The Board stated he had a'period set
by statute to file a claim for land taking damages and that',
we would investigate the matter of the drain with the Supt.
of streets;
A letter was received f~om Miss Carrie Miller protesting the
parking of the P.O. trucks 'alongside her building. The Board
vied the site after the meeting and voted, to have one of the
trucks moved to Cambridge street.
A letter and~ma'p was received from the CA~ advising of'the prop-
osed construction of a small building near the airport and the
construction of a 128 ft tower. The purpose of the letter was
to determine what plans the Board had'for the improvement of
proposed road leading to said site. As we have no appropriation
and no plans it was voted to so advise and also to question the
advisability of a tower in this location.
Mr.~ Henry B.' Coleman'and M~; R. S. Glidden were g~anted renewals
of their Auctioneer~ licenses.
An application by the Nant'ucket Airport Cormaission for a~'per~it
to store ~gas.in two locations in'underground 'tanks at the'
airpo~ was ~eceived and it'was 'voted to advertise he~Ping for
same to be held at the airport on Tues the 26th at 8PM.
SpecifiCations were 'submitted £or the '.-idewalk ~t the,new school
and it was voted to advertise same. All' bids to be in by ~'August
