Barrett and checked and approved by the Board. Minutes of the previous ~eting ~were' read and approved. Mr. W. Ripley Nelson was present in behalf of the Civic League and~presented a program for Poisen Ivy and Ragweed spraying and a program of publicity to enlist public help in the making of the Island pollen free. Ir'was' voted to adopt the program as submitted and to authorize Mr. Nelson to uegoti,~te the spraying contra~ts. Mr. Edmund' Pollard and Mr. Herbert Cabral were p~esent with .ence to pa~king near the~ Cliffside Beach, 'Secy, Glidden advised that Mr~ 'Conrad had talked with'him about the matter and after discussion had agreed to allow parking on .his parkin~ area' so long as same did not interfere with usual course of business. A petition was received from residents and users of Flora St. requesting additional marking on Orange street at the Dread of Flora street, this matter was referred to the Supt. of streets for attention. William L. Reis Jr. Was'appointed a Sp.~police having been approved by Chief Howes. It was voted to have the' cross Salks ou Main street square painted the full width. -- The matter of marking the curb~ to desighabe parking spaces on the square was re~erred to the Supt. of streets and the Chief of Police for their reco~,mmendations. , ..... ~_~'~ . Mr. Arthur Gibbs Ch. of the-Planning Board was present and discussed with _the Board'suggestions his co~[ttbee might work on_as ~regards t~he Jetties~Beach. ......... ~ ..... The matter of Stuida~ ent'ertainment ~topping a_t~ llPM oh Sunday rite and then 'starting again at midnite to 1AM'on Mort; morning was discussed and it was-the feeliu~ ~of the Board that 'this regualation was without any good ~eason and that consequently we w?uld.disrega~.d ~t~he. !lP~M.l. imit. ~ ...... ~- ~. _. It was v~ted to advertise for a~-li£egua~d at Siasconset Beach the p~esent incumbant having left, this date. The matter of Specifications for~ the new sidewalk at' the New High School was voted to ,be ref6rr~d to the Supt, of Streets to dr~ up and sub'mi,t.~0 the B0a,~,d..' ,~ .... Nr. Seddon Legg was granted approval of a No parking sign in front of his driveway on 0range~St. William D. Perkins ~in~behalf of the Nanto Cottage HoSp~'was granted apermtt for the usual banner acmoss Main street. ~[rs By~eon Burroughs wrote appraising the Board of a patch of poAse~ Ivy on Madaket Rd. Chief Crowley of the' Brant Point s'tation [~r0te with reference to the oark:u~ problem near the station and making various ~suggestions which were referred to the Supt. of Streets. meeting adjourned at 10 PM.
