The meeting cam~ to order '~t 8PM ali members of the Board'
being present.
Wa'~ra~t No~ ~ total~ing~/~'~S was presented by Town
Acct. Barrett and checked and approved ~by the Boardj
Minutes of the Previous meeting were read and approved.
Mr. Joseph Pykom was present to see if any action had been
decided on by the Board with reference to E. Dover and Lower
York streets, the Board had made no decision as yet and so
advised Mr. Pykoz.
Mr. Harol~ Arnold in behalf of the Boy Scouts was~g2anted a
permit for an e~campment at the town land at Dioness for one
week starting 4 July they to clean up and p~lice area.
Mr. Henry J. Pass District Public works officer ~and Lt. Schnei~
C.O.~ of the Sea Bee Batallion were present and' discussed the
by pas road around the government taking with the Board. Mr.
Pass stated t~at the government had approved same and that they
would grant to t he town apermanent easemSnt on a road as laid
out and shown on a plan presented. On motion made and seconded
it was voted to accept this easement, Mr. Pass to dz~w the
necessary papers and forward to the town for examiuetion by
the town counsel and final approval.
The Board signed contracts for the paving of lower pleasant
St. a Ch. 90 project and ~orwarde them to the DPW.
Planned Playtime wrote thanking the Board for its coopeoation
and outlining their activities for the past year.
Straight .Wb_~rf Theatre wrote requesting ~perm~ssion to serve
Beer between the'acts of their Sat. evening melodramas this
season. This matter was referred to the town counsel.
The C. A. P. was granted a permit for~ a hanger 'dance on Sa.t~
9 July at the airport.
The resignation of Howard U: Chase from'the Nantucket Airport
Commission was recei.ved and voted approved wi~h regrets.
M~s Woodward in behalf of the Garden Club asked if flowe~ s~aud
to be constructed by the club for the display of cut flowers
by vendors could be left on Main st. ove~ight, the Board did
not feel ~nis to be feasible.
Town Couns'el wrote advising the Board he could see no reason
why the Board should not w~ite Com. Bissette of the D.P.W. as
requesed by Atty.~ Earle C. Parks. *It was voted to write as
requested but pointing out that the town had made no agreement.
Fire' Chief was granted permission to attend the Fire Chi~f~
convent i on.
The following licenses and p~rmits were granSed:~The skipper
Common Vict. the Overlook Hotel l Innholders; Gordon Fol
holders;Westmoor Inn, Innholders; Bertha Hayden, Common
Ice Cream and Juke Box.; Jetties Beach, ~Common Vtct. Soft Drk.
Ice Cream. and Don Allen Class 2 used car dealer.
