The ~eetiug came to order at ~.~0 PN all members of the Board
being present, the meeting being preoeeded by.a County meeting
Warrant No. ~l totalling $6960.24.was'~'pros~nted by Town Acc't.
Barrett and checked and approved by the Board. ~
Ninnies ~f the previous meeting were read and approved.
Capt~. Ellison Pease was present and'presented in behalf of~the
Fishermens Asso. the following reco~endatious:' 1. That sprayin
for ticks be stoppe~due to its bad effect on shellfish;
That the warden be~sent' to Boston ~o oppose 'Senate bill 199~
~elative to shellfish licenses; ~. That the presenttemp.
on scalloping be abolished as~ it has been*determined that
freezing does not damage scallops. ~'
It was voted on these to write the tree co~ission and the
dept~ of conservation on article one, and the dept.:of con-
servation on article three. As the hearing date for a~ticle 2
has not been set as yet uo action was taken on this request.
~r. John Walsh wa~ present ~nd':requested a t~w~ weeks, extension
of his~Ju~ license.as he has the fence ~/4's completed and
cannot finish same unless he moves a large pile.of scrap.~After
discussiug~t~is'matte~ the Board decided that the~applicant
had had long enough to c~plete the fence and no action was
taken on this request.~ .
The Wanuacom~t~ Water C0. was granted ~i~mits't~'op~n oliff
and Atlantic Ave. subject to the approval of the~ supt.~or stree s.
A letter was received from the~Dept..of Ag~igultu~e relative
to cooking of garbage by people having contracts with Towns.
As we have no contract garbage collection no action was taken
on ~_is'matter.' ,. ~ ~ ~' ~ ~ ~ '~ ~
I~ was voted to a~thorize the Secy to open a checking account'
in the 'Pacific National'Bank for the deposit-of reos collected
before same a~e turned~ ove~ to Town Treasure~, same to~
carry.authorized signature of the Chairman and the Secy.~
The ~o~lo~iug'~li~ensesand perraits were granted. ~
