Barrett and checked and approved by the Board. lginutes 0f the previous meeting were read and approved. Shellfish v~ards~' Uinslow was before the .Board and submitted a g~oup of charts he had compiled showing the incidence soft shell clams. }~im. I~erwin Blou~t, Harbor I.~aster was present and reoorte~~ on action he had taken on a sunken boat in i~adaket creek~ and~ also ~recon~ended to the board that Elliot ~,~eldeu be appointed deputy harbor m~ster at D1adaket.~ It ~7as so voted. Capt. Leland Topham ~?as present' and requested in behalf of the Red Lien a pe~it to parade u~sr arms over various streets of the town on 16 April 1955. ~The route encor~pases the area the ~peri~ueter of S. Water ~Iain Center and Broad streets and includes the steamboat wharf. 0u motion made and seconded it was vot~ to a~oprov~ same. Wm. Byron Snow and Ellison Pease, pres. ~.nd secy of the Fisher- n~ens Asso. were present and preteuted-various recomendations voted by the association. 1. That power hoisting be al!owed in scalloping with the ,condition that~d~sdges~be not over 26" wide nor over 72 inches dSep. One dredge,to bo hoisted at a time. No action was taken on this matter at this:time. 2. It was recomn~euded~that spar buoys be~ placed~iu madaket in the winter and pipe iu the su~ner and this was refmrred to t~ harbor master. ~. It was rec0nnuended t~t a bent pipe be removed f~om I'~adaket harbor and this was also referred to the harbor master, who was oreseut at'the meeting. ., ~ ~im. Snow and I~ Pease ~resented g~id chamts~of Nadaket and~ Nantucket harbor to be used in conjunction wtth~a'seed'scalloP so~vey and' it~was ,voted to authorize the Shellfish warden proceed with Same and to hime~uecessa~y boats and men at the rate of ~.50 pe~ hour. ~ ~ Bid~ ~vere- received~ on bulldozing oF the ~d~ps ~last week ~nd t ~boamd having inspected the equipment voted to'award the co~tmac to ~alter~Glowacki at ~the mmte of ~9.00 pe~ houm on the job. It was voted to write Commissioner Voipe~re~sting ~hat the centerliuing progran be continued, and to have contracts drawn up for the truc~an engaged for snow plowing. It was voted to s~bmit'soectficati0ns to Nantucket Const. Co. and ~alter F. Glowackt for bids on road work, same to be in by.April 20th. 195~. Ale tter ~was ~ received ~from th~~ Finance.
