Warrant No. 3, totalling $35,431.25 was p~esented"by'Town Acct. Barrett and checked and approved by the Board. Ninutes ~f .the p~evious meeting were read and approved. It was voted to write 'Dreamland theatre and request ~h~ u~e of the Theatre on Feb. 15th for the annual town meeting. M~;.' William Wiuslow' was present and reported that Mr. ~Henry Huyser, Mr. Fred Coffin and N~. Robert Lema had gone scallop- ing when' the temperature was 29.degrees F. this being~ in, violation of the Boards ruling setting the temp. limit at 30. After discussing this matter with the men and warden Winslow and examining the records' of the U.S. Weather bureau as to temp. covering the hours euvolved the Board took this matter uder advisement and later in the meeting voted to write each of the men a letter of warning and place, this matter on file. A letter was received from the Dir. of Narine Fisheries, Mr.' Francis Sargent stating that .tests by his dept. last,winter had shown that the bay scallop could stand temperatures much~ colder than has been thought, ,after discussing this matter with Warden Winslow the board voted: to abolish all ~temp- erature controls at t~is time .... ,,, The matter ~f sick leave Jfor town employees was again dis ~cussed with a view to claryfying this matter and the~followin was voted: Sick leave shall' only~apply to town employees who have been in'the employee of -t~he ~town for at least 12 con- sequtive months,~the amount of leave shall be 15 days after the first year and 30 days after the seennd year,~in the event any of~ this leave~ is used the user shall start'over~ again to build'same up. ,~ M~. ~Walter G10wacki applied for a permit to store gas in, ' underground tanks at his property on Macey Lane and same . was voted~to take the course prescribed by law, the hearing to be 2 Febr.uary a~ 1PM.~ ~ , ~ ,~ There being no further b6sine~s(the~board went into executive session to discuss a'welfare matter. on of~one Wallace Ross, k sol~ie~s ~b~nefit recepi~n the~ Board voted to have Mr. Scully look into this matter and James K. 61idden, :S~y.
