Warrant No. 43 totalling $47',43?.88 was presented by Town Acct. Barrett and checked and approved.by the Board. Minutes of the ~previous meeting were ~ead and approved. Mr. C. Gerald snow in behalf of the Civic Lea'gue raised the question of an old byI law voted by article 28 of the annual~ tovm meeting of 1931 which appeared to give the selectmen powers, to issue bldg. permits and'control types of buildings. "It was voted to refer~ this matter to the Town Counsel for opinion. SHellfish Warden' Winslow was, present a~d ' ' requested that the Asst Warden Mr.' Thurston be retained 'for the 1st week of the commercial scallop season at leas~ and it was so voted. The Girl Scouts were g~anted a permit to sel~ cookies from a truck on main street on Sat. morning. Mr.~. Ernest T~ipp was ~granted a permit to hang a Sign and awning over the sidewalk at the Orange St. Grocery~ Rep. B~rnes advis'ed 'that we might obtain funds from the State on a 50-50 basis for harbor t--~provements and that it was possible if we, knew definately what we wanted to have the state eng; make a survey for us at no cost to the roma.
