Minutes of the Previous meeting were read and'approved. Judge Caroline Leveen of the District C0u~t was pres~ent and spoke on ~he subJec~ o~ ~ presen~ quar2ers;off ~he Cou~ s~ated ~hey, were dirty and inadequa2e and reco~ende~ ~!~ ~he cour~ be moved ~o 2he Sanffo~d House. Bp. Justice~ Gardner Russell also spoke on this subject, s~a2ed he the Dis~ric~ Co~ should ~ve be~e~ Facilities. Judge G. Poland also spoke agreei~ ~ better quar2ers were needed but potn~ing ou~ ~ha~ ~he Sa~o~d House ~ould no~ be adequate unless ex~ensive al~erations were made.~G~ace:M. ~en~ Clerk of the District Court also agreed that bette~ quarters were needed but wondered if the Sanford House would be any better than the p~esent cou~t.~ ~ 'Ch. HaZy advised the speakers t~t this was a Co~ty Co~iss- loners matter, and that the~board~c0~d take'no action~on it at this time but would refe~ it to the next cowry meeting. ~omas Towhill and Chs.~ Chambers were on reco~endation of Chief Howes appointed'as Scorer Police officers fo~ the wlnte~ season~ ~ ~ ~-~ ~' HaraM aavtsea Bartlett of the~ S~il~ C~se~vati0n ~co~ittee had advised t~t 2500 pine t~ees were expected this fall t~t that ~quite a few would be available fo~ planting by the Town, it was~felt t~t M~ ~Ba~tlett should~ p~oceed with the planting as in the past,~ with~the thought that ~" have he and M~.
