Barrett and checked and approved by the Board. Minutes. of the p~evigus meeting were ~ead and app~ovsd. ~. Parker ~ay was present and rbquested a'late closing pe~it to serve food on the week-end of the AOPA to~. Boa~ felt'~ that this could not be done and ~at this ~matt~r of food was being adwquatly taken care of by the co~tttee. A lengthy discussion of. the ente~tai~ent hou~ ~0f midnite p~eyiously ~posed' on the Opera Hous and '~e ~Ropewalk ~estau~ants followed. ~e followi~ sp~aki~6n t~e ~ubject.~' M~s E. Jj Lyons who ~ead a prepared sbate~ent; ~. Pa~ker Gr~y; Mr. Pease; and M~. Galliard'and M~. Ha~dy. No action w~s taken on this matte~ at this time. Mrs Ida Chase was present aud~ sta'ted that she had give ~s~~ "what she stated" was youth movement literature which ~she had found in he~ ro~ing house to M~. Burgess, 'Ch. Hardy asked he had turned it ove~ to the police and Mr. B~gess stated that he had misplaced it. The Wannacomet Water Co. was granted ape~it to open W. Dover street. A letter fPom the state foreste~ was received ad~i~ing that planting t~ees of the'pine variety would not be availabel before the first of the year. A legter was received f~ Nantucket Boat Inc. setti~ forth thei~ side of the cont~overs~y bewteen themselves and ~e tn- dependent cabs. same was placed on file. A lette~ was received f~om the Nantj Chamber of Come,ce ebclos a letter sent to it by Nan Wade Pearson with ~eferen6e nuisnade. No action could be ~ken at this t ~e and same was filed. Ch~ber of~'Co~e~e asked the Boards constderati~n of using uarters adjacent to ~e I~o~tion Bureau and same was ~tabled ~G week. Nantucket Yachet Club Was g~n~ed a pe~it fo~ a dance on Se~ ...~, f~om 9 till ~M. Leon' Royal was present-and proteste~~ what'he~lled the un- authorized use of to~ funds by ~e~Cham5e~' of Co~e~ce-usin~ ic relations co~ittee ~envel6pes.' Ch~ Hardy ~co~ented ~at was because the two agencies were working together on the ~OPA ai~ to~. ~hief Howes submitted the names 0f Th~s Tbwhill ~aud Chs~~ Chambe s ~o~ Sconset winte~ Police and this matte~ was tabled for one week being no further business the meeting adj. at 9.~5 PM.
