A g~oup of sconset residents were present a~d presented a
petition to the board and various ones spo~e on vanied subjects
such as sightseei~ busses,' zoni~, type of visito~ etc. 0ne~of
the main ~tems was the feeli~ that Nantucket should have some
type of zoning ordinance, with which the Board agreed.
An appli~ation~6f one William Geo~genes for a dance on Labon
day from 12 to 4 AM was denied. ~ ~
A letter W&s ~eceived f~om Mr.~ Albert' Fit~in in ~e the Duce'
dogs and placed on file. '-
Walter Huf~ ~equested a no panking a~eain front of his
~iveway near the old mill and same was referred '~to the Supt.
of streets for action.
A request f~om the t=ee co~ission fo~ additi~onal funds of
$~E5.00 was referred to the Finance Co~ittee.
'A notice of~the Mass State P~ima~,was ~eceived andS'the warrant
fo~ same ~s *signed by the Board and voted advertised on Sept.
~nd the Polls ~o open at 7AM and close at 5PM.

The case of Mr.' Bailey, at the Islaud Home wa.s discussed and
was voted to~ve a letter written his da~hter advisi~
oun ~derstanding and agreement that Mr. Bailey was to be
moved from the home when ~s Nailey was taken from the Hospital
Mr. Pease ~b~o~ht-np ~the matter 6f ~bmplaints he haU geceived ,
as regards the Opera House and ~ggested that the ententai~ent
be rest~ic=ed ~to ll~M =his matten was discussed at some length
anU on motion ~de and seconded it was voted t~t the Opera
House and the~Ropewalk be advised that their entertai~ent
