Warrant No. '28 totalling $19,764.61 was presented by To~m
Acct.. Barrett and checked and approved by the Board.
l~Iinutes of t~e previous meeting were read a~d appro~ved.'
Y~'~ Ripley Nelson and t~. Gerald-Snow '~f the Civic L~'ague'
Poisen Ivy and Ragweed committee~ were present and submitted
a program to be followed .to try and eliminate the above
pests under 'the town appropriation. The program co~'~red,' ~
spraying the sides of the highway from Siasconset to the
junction of the ~auwinet Rd. ~and the two areas of park land
on N. Beach street. It was voted that. they be authorized to
proceed with this program. ~ ~
~[ ~ar Lessier was gra~ted a ~p~rmit-to rent b~ach' ~b~i'lal~
and chairs at the childrens beach, south beach,~ siasconset an~
Diones.
I~rs Claude ~ons' was granted a pe~it to hang a~sign over
the sidewalk at her residence 21 Federal St' Town. ~ ,,'.'
~s~$ns' and l~. Robbins discd~s~d with the Board, th~-.
refusal to grant B~. Robbins,a comuon vict. license, the~'
board took this matter under advisement and after discussing~
it later in the evening it was the consensus that no change
be made in the previous decision.'
~.~ Manuel Correa, dba~The Snack Shop applied for a S~day
entertai~ent license for cornet, dr~s etc and same was
denied. ~ ~ '~
It~was ~oted to advise the Public Relations Committee ,that
only those, guest houses which'have-obtained lodging house '.
~ licenses were pertinent whould be serviced by the ~Iuformation
bure au., ~, ~ ~ ~'
?I~-was voted to appro~e~ th~ installation of,t~O"str~t lights
on Hopper Fa~ Rd. and to so advise the Gas and Electric Co.~
The matter of the' license cards~'in cabs.was'discussed and it
was felt that the regulation wh0uld remain as is. -~
It was voted to ~efer ts the Tov~'~ounsel~f0r opinion the ~
question as to vgnether vendors of ~fish'and fa~ produce could
park~on Nain~St.~ irrespective of the traffic regulations~
Chief Howes~/was authsrized~ to hire one addition~al 0ffice~ fo~
~special duty,~:the board to be advised before any~definate
co~uitment madej ~" ~ %~ ~ ~
At' Chief Howes S~uggesti0n, Ch. HardY, Supt. of Streets Jaeckl~
C. Gerald Snow and Chief Howes~were appointed to a co~ittee
to study the possibility of obtaining~an area in the central
part of to~ for off the street parking.
It was voted th~t~all sughtseei~g busses'regardless of point
of depart~e ~load .at the bus stand on Federal St.
The following licenses and 'permits were g~anted: Frank Sylvi~
Ice cream and soft driP; Francis and ~arbara Holdgate Inn-~
holders license; Richar~ Conrad, dba the ~~~ ~ Co--on Vict.

to serve as night,watchman at Cliffside Beach~ his ap~
having been approved by Chief Howes.
There 'being no ftmther'business the meeting adjourned at
9.50 PM.
