Instructi0~' ~o voters,' penalty~cards,~-voti~.g lists, and specimen~ ballots
were posted outside the guard ~Ail. ~ Instructions to voters and penalty
cards were posted in the booths.
The 'folloV~ing '~ballot clerks were sworn in: John J. D~.isooll Jr.-, Joseph M.
Cadrain~ John H. Bartlett Jr. and Seddon W. Legg Jr. -- ~:.~:?/
The ballots in three Sealed packages said to contain
608 Democratic ballots were delivered to the Ballot Clerks and th. eir
receipt taken therefor. ,.-~' ~ ~ ::-,.,
The ballot box and Emergency ballot box were then opened for inspection. ·
They were examined by Wendell H. Howes~ Seddon W. LeEg Jr.', Charles Clark
Coffin and Joseph M. Cadrain and found to be empty. The register on the ballot
box was set at 0000~ -Both boxes were then locked and the keys turned over
to W~ndell H.' Howes, Constable in charge. ~:,
Co~stable Howls pre~ented the Warrant for ~'the State Primary to ,the ~Town~ :.
Clerkj3~ The Warrant was read by the Torn% Clerk and at 7:30 A.M. She polls

At 12;10 'P;~' the register,on the ballot box standing at 398 the ballots,
were' removed to the' emrgency ballot box by Wendell H. Howes, Seddon W.
LeEg Jr. 'and Charles Clark Coffin.~' !~. ,~ -.',. ~ ....
