"It proved, b~yon~~ any doubt whatsoever, that was. all the volume that could be delivered by a six-inch main at the pressure developed ,~ by a gravity feed system and the pressure, the weight of the water alone between two points, one slightly lower than the other. Siasconset Water Company's main was a two-inch line. , That two-inch line supplies the caddy house and the' sprinklers~in that vicinity. It was laid down, I understand, From my investigation, approximately 1951, a galvanized pipe. It is shut down every winter, which is conducive to the forming of rust and scale. Members of the Club have told us extensive new piping is planned for this year and your Committee would just like to. go along in not recommending it for this year, but we' do feel that the trouble lies, more .. than in part, in their own piping system and the condition the pipes are in today and the size of the taps used. We feel that another main, on the gravity pressure or static pressure, at any given point, wo~uld be the same for both mains. It is all uphill and downhill again. ~ Static pressure would be identical at any given point, ~whether there was one main or two mains.
