Acceptant Barrett and checked and app~ove~ by the Board. ,
Mr. Ed. Butler sewer~co~issi~ner was present and dis'~Ssed
with the boa~d his epinion as to the cause of the settling at
the Mor~ls Barn on N. Liberty street and advised the board
that ~.'Morris had g~anted~the 'town an easement fo~ ~the .~
surface drain pipe some years ago the s~e bei~ p~operly recori
at the registry of deeds. The-boa~ later in the evening voted
to info~ M~s Mo~is that we felt the town was not liable ~d
that we would consequently take no action on this matte~.
A delegation of fisherman w~e ~esent and ~scussed the';~-'
~lations~as regards the taking of scallops fo~ family use ~th
the boa~d, some were in favo~ of no ca~ge and some in favo~
of changing the regulation to all~ the t~ing by ~y and all
means. The boa~d voted to adve~tise~that we would hold a
specila meeting at ?.30 PM on ou~ next meeting night to discUSS
this question with anyone desiring to be present.
M~ Roge~ ~~ '~equested the board not to forget its previous
vote to ~emove the fence at Indi~ Ave. on I Oct. This matte~
was referred t0 the Supt. of streets.
N~. waiter~Bar~ett was p~esent and discussed the M~d~t Pie~
with the Boa~d, he and his co~ittee felt that the s~face
should be asphalted leaving about a foot arced :the edge of
the pier as is to allow for any settling that might occur.
The board asked Mr. Barrett to dete~m~e what the cost'of~~
putting in ~avel at the pie~ w~ld be and also the cost of
,dredging out any obstructions that may remain and report at
a future meeting.
Mr. Nathan '~Urston,was granted a permit to keep chickens at
his residence on Vestal st. Nantucket Maas..~ 1 ~ [ ~ [
