~he me'ting came to order at 8.15 PM Mr SOverin6 being absent
and Mr. Todd serving as Ch. Pro Tem. i , -' ~,
Warrant No~ 36 was p~esented by Town Accountant Barrett, totallin
$9,~33;02: and checked'and approved by the Board.
Mr Chester Barrett and'a Mr. Daniels~Atty for the New E~gland'Bus
Association were present along with Mr. Towhill of Island Sight-
seeing Co. and a discussion was held as to the difficulties of
the tow operators. It was voted on Motion of Mr. Holdgate that
the bus schedules be changed in the afternoon to be as follows:
. Barrett ~ bus in stand at 2PM out at 2.30 PM
' 'Towhill & Chase in stand at 2.30 PM out at 3 PM~daily
~ ~ morning trip to remain as i~s. ~ ~ .....
~0n further motion of Mr. Glidde~ it was voted that the bus
be the only solicitor at the bus and that he stand at the door of
the bus.
Mr. H~gh MacVicar was present as requested informabi0n on the
examination of his property made by Dr. Folger the public health
Dr.~at the request of the board on compalint of one Lawrence
Mulkern, the secretary reported that Dr. Folger had completed his
exam nation'and had reported that he found nothing on the premises
or in theri condition that in his opinion was unhealthy or would
be a nuisance.~
Mrj~ John Forte~s~was granted apermit t~0 hold a dance a legion hall
on Wensday Aug 23rd from 9 to 1
The Boys~club were granted a permit for a t~g~day Sat. the~ 19th.
~Frank Sylvia was granted ~permit in behalf of t'he~ Republican
~to hold a rally on Main street on Sunday evening.
Thei~ being no further business the meeting adjourned at 9.30 PM.
