Mr. Tow~ill and Mr. Viers of the Iaiand Sightseeing Tours' were present and complained about the situation at the Bus stand on Federal St. it was their.view that the board should split the two bearths upon a permanent basis with Barrett having the first berth and they the'second it being.the in- tention to put'each bus nearest its office. The board took no action on this request preferring that the present system whereby the busses rotate stands each day should stay in~ effect as being fairest to both parties. The board also voted to inform the bus operators that the busses should leave on schedule and requested that the two operators file with the~ board a schedule of their times of departure. Mr. Jaeckle Supt. of streets conferred with the board with reference to the coming meeting with the commissioners of public works which is scheduled for Sat. the 26th of August. It was also felt that we should attempt to get the State highway resurfaced and also obtain money to remove brush from the road side and'replace existing guard rails with reinforced concrete posts. On the question of bond issue money no decision was reached although the board felt it might be the best plan to see how much we could get done on the Polpis road. Mr. Jaeckle suggested that Francis street at Union be made a stop street and the Board ~oted~that the matter take its usual course and authorized the Supt. to erect a atop sign immideatly pending approval by the state. The matter of poisen ivy spraying was also discussed with the supt. and he stated that he had enough chemicla to make 2000 gals mixed but that it seemefl a better idea to have the tree commission spray it as they had the equipment and know how no action was taken on this matter.
