Meeting'ca~me to order at 8.15 PM Mr~ soverino absent,
Mr. Holdgate served as Chairman pro rem.
Warrant NO. 33 totalling $14,VV6.28 was presented by town
accountant Barrett and'checked and approved by the Board.
Mr. Richard Eldridge was granted an entertaihment permit.
The K.of C. was granted permission for a lawn party on Aug
l§th and 16th. also permit to have tables on Main street.
Voted to have World War 2, plaque read Armed Services and
to not include members of Merchant Marine etc. Voted to
have H. Merserve Co. draw complete sketch of plaque with
names and submit same for Boards approval.
Lawrence Mulkern was present and complained as regards a
ftenant at his property on Hummock Pond Rd. sta~ed ~ ~*
manner in which property was being used was a health menace.
The board felt this to be a private matter and voted to
take no action.
Mr. E. Skullywas present and requested appointment as
Sp. Police officer to serve at Dreamland theatre, the same
was approved.
Mr.~Carlt0n West, Andrew 'Lowell and Joseph Cahoon 9ere prese
and complained as regards the bus operstors sending ticket
agents all around the streets in the center of town. Board
advised that this matter ~ad been referred to t~be local
police and would be corrected.
Nra William A. Morris complained that her Barn on N. Liberty
street was being undermined by surfac~ water. Mr. Glidden
and Mr. Soverino were appointed a committee to investigate
and report. ~
A communication was received ~fr0m the Commissioners of Publi
Works stating that a public hearing would be held at Nantuck,
on Aug. 28th at 11.80 A.M. to discuss roads.~
Mr.~Cash of welfare dept requested board approve inStallatio~
of a toilet and lav. on the ~rd floor of the~Island Home
while the present piping contractor~is on the Job as this
addition is much needed, pride submitted $2~8.8~, matter
taken under advisement to determine state of budget~
Voted to w~ite to D. P. W. with reference to Chatham~Bend.
opening.
Voted to have the Supt. of street place'some new rubbish
containers at the Sconset Beach.
The meeting adjourned at 9.30. PM'
