The meeting came to Order at 8. 10 PM all members being
present.
'Warrant No. 2~.totalling $~,V3o.2e'was Dresented by the town
accountant and checked and approved by the board.
Minutes of the last meeting
were r~ad and approved.
E. Byrne~Livingston w~s'granted a permit for a sign at 10 N.
'Water street Town.
Allens Nobade~r' Rest. was grant an entertainment permit.
Mr. Parks ~or ~vehicle inspector on tbe~Island in behalf Of
Mr. King the head of the Registry of Motor Vehicles presented to
Chief Mooney a certificate in recognition of this towns record
of no fatalities for the past year.
Two applicants were present in ~ response to bhe boa~dSad.
for life guards at the childrens beach town and the Siasconset
Beach. Mr. Walter G. Creedon was appointed to the position at
the Childrens beach and Mr. George Doyle to the position at
'Sconset. Both to begin their duties on June 2~th 1~80.
Mr. Jaeckle of the Highway department was ~resent and presented
a petition signed by over 100 pe~ple~requesting the board to
take no action with reference to removing the signs~
Mr. Jos. Lopes was granted aperm~t tO h01d a dance at legion
hall on the evening of July Ath. f~om ~ to 1.
M~'~ Susie G. Bur~t$~ was aPpoint~ to the ~ositiO~ ~0f matron at~
the womans comfort station, town, to take the place of Mrs Viers
who had been unable to carry on due to illness.
Mr. Todd brought up the~=atter Of the~P0~t at ~ndian avenue
and the board voted to ~ave the same restored to their ~riginal
position at the entpance 6o this way until the 1st of October.
This~action was taken und~r the boards broad police powers to
protect the town from possiD1e suits for~damages that might
arise due to cars getting stuck etc. in this un improved way.
The boar~'vote~ t0advertise'-f0r bids~once again fo~ the WO~rk
Carpentry, Masonry and PAinting at the"Sanford~House, Bid~ to be
in by 6 July Carpentx-y and Masonry work to be completed tow
weeks after award of contract and painting by 18 August.

license.
Gull ~island Inn was' granted a renewal 0~ their innholders license
Willie~House dba The Chicken B~X Rest. was granted a renewal of
his entertainment permit.
The Chanticlee~ was ~anted a renewal of its innh01ders license.
Cooks'Cycle Shop was granted a renewal of their soft drin~ licens,
Slasconset Casino Was ~ranted a renewal of their Common Vict. and!
soft drink licnese. '
Their being no further business the meeting adjourned at 10.30 PM~
