Commissioners Meeting,~all members of the board being present.
Minutes of the last meeting were read and approvedJi
.W~rrant N0-24 to~alling $14,848.49 was presented by Town Acc~untal
Barrett and checked and approved by the Board.
Mr. Kenneth Pease was before the Board and Stated'that he felt .
the Board'should place some limit on the number of cabs allowed'
in the town, to protect the year round operators, this matter~
was discussed aud.it was voted to determine'from the.town clerk
the number of cabs presently operating and the number operated
last year.
· Mr. Morin and Mr. Clifford Stil~s were present and"discussed with
the boar~ the matter of garbage and rubbish removal, Mr.~Mortn
having had the contra~t at Falmouth and having volenterred to
sit in with us and give us the benefit of his experience.
The follo$ing licenses and'permits were approved;
Gerald Ryder S~ephen Gibbs and A~os E~lis renewal permits to keep
chicken s.
Walter Sisson, Ice cream and soft drink.
Holdgate Bros. Soft dringk.
Gordons Market, Sconset, Ice Cream permit.
Teresa Honan, ~t The Galley, common vict, Soft dring, Ice cream
The~board.Siscussed opening Sas~chsc~~ pond ~and~considered using
funds of the shellfish propagation~for this.purpose .voted to
conatct Mr. Blount on this matter.
The .board voted to ha~e the Sc0nset Day Police Officer begin
his duties on 15 June 1950.
The bo~d vote~~'to~post th~e 1 hr.~Parking signs on m~in street,
and the taxi signs on Federal st. ~ ,, ~
It ~was voted to have the high~ay dept. place a sign on bhe pa'ved~
road at Madaket pointing out the location of the~public pier. ~
The red'cross were voted permission to use the Selectmens 'rooms
thursday June 2~nd at 3 PM. ~ ·
The application of Mr. John~ Hardy for a U.~drive it pertain'was
tabled their being some question if such a permit was needed.
Their being no further business the me~ting adjourned ~t '10.45 PM
