The'meeting came to order at 7.~0 P~ff'all members being'
.present except ~r. Soverino. ~
Nr.~ Todd aeted as Chainuen pro tem in Chairmen Soverin~s~
absence.
Warrant No. l0 was presented by I~ro~Barrett and checked
and app~9~ed by. ~he bga~d~ . -
Nr. George;Burgess'Sr. was oresent and aired his views on
the fishing industry in general and the manner in'which it'
is being handled, stated that be'felt spending money For
wardens etc w~s a complete waste, that men'should be allowed
to~ecallpp according to the state regulatisn in October,and
take as many scallops as the state allowed.
~r. E~uund Perry was granted a pistol pe~uit.
The Legion Aux. was granted a pe~m~it for a dance at Legion
Hall St. Valentines day hours 9 to 1.
The boa~d'voted after some discussion of the scallop situatic
to have the shellfish warden make a survey of the seed scall¢
in.shoal water and give us his recomendations~as'to moving
s~me to deeper areas. Discussion was also held'on names of
men given to the board as having violated the seed scallop
regulations and it was voted to delay.any action'until the
shellfish ~arden.had conferred with us next week.
The board discussed the recent refusal of Nr; H~
issioner of Corp and taxation~to approve certain'articles
voted by our last annual town meeting, and voted to contact
out,Rep. ~r.'Barnes and have him con, er with Nr. long on
these matters and advise. ,,. ,, ~
'Nr. 'Coffin~ and-Nr~ Todd Were'appointed'a cormni ttee'~0f
to secure the services of a competent carpenter to m~ke a
survey of the work necessary to be done.on.the Saufo~d'House
and'dra~ up'specification so that,the s~he'could be put out'
to bids~ and further to t~ke'the sa~ne steps as regards the
painting and masonry work~ at the Sanford House,'and the
Steps at Indian'Avenue.. ,
It was voted to. have'the Su~t. ~f, st~eebs'~f~. ~eckle-confi~
.with the board at'its next meeting t~ discuss the new highwa~
bldg and various phases of road work.
Article 19 of the last ~arr~nt was referred to our Rep.
Barnes for appropriate action.
It was Voted' t~ have the Police ~hief ~nd'the Fiere Chief
confer with us at. the next meeting to discuss e~uipment
voted for their departments by the town meeting.
There being no further business the meeting adjodrned at
lO.GO P~ after voting to again postpone appointments until
the full board was present and setting the time of,the next
meeting at 7.$0 P~.
