Mr., Bar~ett pre~ented warrant"No'.'21~wh~.ch was checked an approved by.~the Board. Total amount ~18,731.04. -~ -, ~Chief CartW~i, ght was pres~ent and informed the B0~rd that he h~d had eome difficulty with the question of incinerators, it was his suggestion that some restriction be placed on the hours_on which they could be used. 'The Board voted that no incinerators should be used except bewteen the hours of 4. to 6 PM daily and also voted to publish a notice in the papers to this effect. Mr. Harold-Galliard wa's present 'and the matter of his license restriction was again discuseed. It was voted to issue Mr. Gaillar~s liquor and entertainment license with no restrictions other thafl those imposed by law as regards the regular closing hours. ~r. Carley of N. Water street was present-and ~equested a ~no parki area in front of his guest hous on No. Water street. This matter was referred to the Sup. of Streets. The following permits and licenses were granted. Pre,ton Manchester, entertainment.' Henry Coleman and Jerimiah Towhill, to keep hens. Youngs Cycle Shop. Soft drink . ~, Mr. Carley, dba Carlisle Guest House, Innk~eepers License ,, Robert G. Butler, Pistol permit Allen Holdgate, Common Vfct. The' board discussed the question of the stove for the Island Home and voted to advertise for bids on same, all bids to be 'in by 8PM on Thursday 1~ June ~1950. ~ , ~¥~iss Flor~$nce Farrell,' Public Health Nut'se was granted a~ leave of obsence until I Oct. due to the illness of her mother.'~rs Mooney is 'to carry on until I June afte~ which we will have to find anot mubstitute. It was voted to 'can~el the car for the'Memorial'Day celebration and for the members to try .to meet at the cermonies at the cemetary. ~ The application of the Siascons'et Book Store 'Inc. for a taxi license was not approved. The B0~rd voted to advertise a~se~cti0~ from' the traffic regul~at with relation to the penalty for defacing signs etc. ~ It was voted to write to-the D.P.W. :and 'req~e~t their co~side~a'tio of us~g any balance left from the Polpis-Rd. and Old South Rd ~' Chapter 90 ppojects on connecting this years work on the Polpis ~ Rd. with the .end of last years project, which area we had to skip this year in'order to complete the cut off st the curve.
