Warrant No. 18 totalling $~,230.3v W~s presented~bY Toxm Accoun-
tant Barrett and'checked and approyed~by the Board.
Minutes of the last meeting were read 'and approved.~
Nr. Jaeckle Supt. of streets and Nr. Colby co~itraetor on the
Madaket Rd. Job were~ present and discussed with the board the
contractors plans with reference to the'construction.

Officer for the summer.
'The board discussed 'the traffic'~'~nd 0ark~ng ~situation' and voted~
_ to request per-mission of Dreamland Theatre Inc. to post the area
~ ~ at the rear and side'of the movie house as a public parking area
'until 6 P~ each day during the summer. ,_ ~. ~

The meeting c~nveney as~Select~en 'at 8.45~PM after~a county
Cemmissioners meeting. Mr.~ Cofein was absent.
Warrant No. 19 totalling $19,081.31 was checked and appr'oved
by the board. ~
Mr~. Robert Curr!e lessee of the Jetties Bathing b~a'ch was present
with Mr. Seddon W. Legg and ~iscussed work needed at the beach
and presente~ an estimate Mr. Legg stated he would do the work
for the price qu~te8 and it was voted to award him the Job the
price to be ~987.00.
Mr. Harold Gaillard was present a~d discusse~ with the board his
peri. it for an entertainment permit stating that he merely wanted
a per~it for a piano as in years past~ ~lso felt that t~e restric
placed on his closing as regards the entertainment should be lift
The matter was t~bled for one week due to the ab.~ence of ~r. ~of~
Mr. John Walsh an~ Mr. Frazier representing L.~ Gr0ss~an and Sons
of Quincy Mas were present and requested per~ission to move~ a
Quonsett hut from low beach to the garage~ property of Harry Gord¢
said permit w~s granted. ~'
Mr. Walter Barrett of the Mada~et pier committee was p~ese~t and
asked the Board to have two signs prepared to be placed at the
head and foot of ~the pier. The boar~ approved this procedure
and re~2ered the 'matter to Mr. John Puttrick work to be billed
to the pier account.. One'sign two side~ to read" Madaket Public
Pier, for lmading and unloading only and the other No Parking on
pier, both per order Board of Selectmen.
}~inutes of the last meeting'were read and approved.
Approval~f use ef the Parking~area in rear and side Sf Dreamlan~
Theater was received and the only stipulation was that the town
paint the parking spaces~ on the area, it was so voted a~d the
~atter referred to the Supt. of streets.
Matter of the'Siasc6nset Book Stgre Inc. for a taxi permit was
tabled for another week.
Mr. Henry Coleman and Mr. R. S. Glidden were ~ra~ted renewals of
their Auctioners licenses. ~
Mr. Donald Tilgkman dba ~* High'Seasoning on OldeN. Wharf was
'granted a Conmnon Vict. license.
Albert Fee and Chs Stackpole were granted a ~p~rmit to run dance
at Chace Hall on Tues evening from 9 to I during the coming seas
and were appointed Special Police to serve ~ithout pay at said
dance s ·
Request for a No Pa~rking area 'opposite the. garage door of
Florence Ingalls garage near the theatre parking area ~as
approved. ~
It was voted to engage Mr. Peter Sylvia to repair the fence at
the ~ill Hill cemetary as voted by the town.
