Warrant No-15 totalling $V9,975.35 was presented by town accountsn Barrett and checked and approved by the board. Mr.'LeRoy Ryder, Mr. Clifford Ryder, Mr. Martin Foley and Mr. Louis ~Ayot were present and protested the granting~of~liquor lic- enses to Manuel.Corera dba The Snack Shop and to Willie House dba The Chicken Box. stating that they owned or were building homes in the area and that they did not feel these places were or would be~anything but a nuisance. The board promfsed to take the matter under advisement. Mr. Blou~t Shellfish Warden was present and ~eported that due to the storm we had it had become necessary to hire some men to remove seed scallop from the beach and shoal water at madaket, that he hsd hired Mr. Jewett, Mr. ~idney Killen/Mr. H. Bardsley and Mr. Ed. G~rdner, Mr. E. Francis Jr. and Charles Baker, the board approved Mr. Blounts action'and voted that the pay to these men should be on the basis of $10.00 per day. ~ It was Voted to have Mr. Blount further survey the area and take whatever steps,are necessary to remove any other seed to deep water,using last years figures on cost as a basis. Minutes of the last meeting were read by the Secretary and approve by the Board. Mrs Arthu~ Stetson was granted a ~enewal-of her Innholders"licen~e at the Stetson House. Francis~was gra'nted a renewal ~of his S~ft ~rink license at the~Nantucket Golf Club., and-also a renewal of his Special-Police Appoint~ent, for the Golf Club, to serve without pay. ~.' Robert Francis w~s ~XaE~E~xax~E~ appointed a Special Police officer to serve at the Nantucket Golf Club,~without pay. It Sa~'~v0ted to obtain~sPecifications from Supt. of Streets Mr. Jaeckle on work of curbs on Washington St. W. York Lane and ~ the Siascon~et Bus Stand. - -~ It was ~oted to ~eturn the painting bids to the bidder's with ~he advice that we would call for bids at a later date.
