The me~ting came to o~der at 8 PN/a~l members being present
except Nr. Holdgate who is confined to the. Hospital.
Warrant No. 13,. totalling ~15,859.63 w~s presented by't~wn
accountant Barrett and'checked and'approved by the board.
seddon w. Legg was present ~nd discussed With t~e board
work to be done at the bathing beach. The board~granted
permission to Nr. Currie to erect a platform east of the Pre~
porch and to remove a partition in the kitchen.
~r. Charles Talfo~5 was appointed a Special Police Officer
to serve without pay.
A c~mmunication~was received from the Board 0~ Asse~s~0rs,
with reference to a portion of the articles voted on at the
la2t annual town meeting, the assessors feeling'that the
vote was not clear e~ough for them to act upon requested tbi
board to call a special town meeting to vote on these articl~
and clarify~the issue. The board voted to take no action at
this time. ,.,
~r.~Gli~d'en was appointed a committee of one to check with
~r. Edgsr Adams with reference to making some arrangements
for permission-for smaller bgys in the so~th part of town
to use his.lot for baseball.
Their being nofurth'er business the meeting adjou~rned'at
9.45P~ after vote~ng to bol~ a special meeting at 11.45 A~
on Friday the 31st for t~e purpose.of awarding the contract
for the new Police Cruiser. o

The board met~at their rooms at'll.45 AM~this~date all membe:
except Mr. Holdgate being present, Chief Mooney al~o sat-in
with us, a discussion was ha5 with the Chief as regards the
needs'of.the department with reference to the cruiser and,
the bids three'in number submitted, b~f. Island Chevrolet, '
Hardys Auto-service and'H ldgate Bros. were~opened~'It was
voted to.award the contra~t to Island Chevrolet whose bid
was 1600.00 dollars.
A~dfscussio~.was had-with~reference to splittin.up the gas
and oil business an5 it was vote~ to take this up at the ~
next regular meeting a~ arrange some sort of schedule %~$re'
all the town equipment would rotate each three months, among
the year round gas stat~.ons.
The meeting adjourned at 12.30 P~.
