The meeting came to order at 8.15 PM Zfter first meeting as
County,CGnm~tssioners. Ail membeFs of the board being present.
Bids ,on the Jetties ~Bathing Beach were opened and read as

Robert Curri'eL~--- 3500;00
Elmore Swain Jr.-- 2725;00
Charles Glidden-%- ~500;00
Leslie P. Martin-- 2250.00 ~
Aii of the'above' bids'were on a yearly basis for~a~three year
term. 'On motion of Mr.~ Glidden it was ~oted to award the beach
to Robert T. Currie the highest bidder. ~
Bids on the prin~ting of the town report were next opened and
read as follows:
In~. and Mirror ........ $6~78 per~ page
Town Crier 8.V5 per page
It was voted to award the job to the l~est bidder the ~ov~ crie
Mr. Blount the ~shellfish warden was present with Mr~. Earl Lowell
~ 'whom he stated he had been forced to stop'scalloping b~cause he
had taken over the permissable amount of seed scallops. Mr.
Blount stated that Mr. Lowell had missed three or four days
fishing awaiting the meeting of the board to see what' action ~
they desired to taek and recommended, to the board that Mr. Lo~el
be let off with a wa~ning. It was so voted.
Mr., Blount also~ advised that his assistant Mr. Smith who h~d' ,~
bee~ ,covering Madaket had resigned but felt that~ because~of the
slacking off in~t~e number of men fishing that he could ~ carry on
alone from now on. ~
An application was received-and £iled from Mr. Todd Burgess For
the taking of the Federal Census.
Mr.~ Dallas Haines ~re~uested a per'it for'Sunday target~practice
~at ~he Somerset Farm., It was voted' to,approve the same ~
sub.~ect to an opinion of the town counsel.
It was~ Voted t~' request ~the members ~of~the °Garga~e Disposal
C~mnittee to meet with the board next week. ~ ~
There being no further business the meeting adjourned at l0 PM.
