MINUTES OF THE MEETIN6 OF SEPTEMBER

The minute's of the meeting of Septembar'lT, 19Gg'were read'~: Mr.
HaleV made a motion'to accept:the minutes as read, it was seconded and
so voted.
· . Warrant No.'.38,'in the amount ~f $52,9~6.92, was approved by the
Board, .
DUHE'S ROAD POLE LOCATION ,H~s. George Miller wes p~esent in regard to
Duke's Road being dug up a~d some of her little trees being destroyed.'
Supt. Jones'assured Mrs. Miller that the D.P.W. would take care of.
cleaning up this road immediately. Mrs. Miller had'no objection to
CATO LANE BID - ARTICLE 91 -Only One' bid was received fr~'m Walter F.
Blowacki ~in the amount of $5,8?5,00,' to do the work as sPecified¢': '
under Article 91.~'There being no other bidders, Mr. Haley made a motion '
to acce~t this bid, it was seconded and so voted. .~' L ..
WALNOT LANE?L, ARTICLE 56 - 1968 The Boar'U decided to advertise for bids
POLE LOCATION - LOVER'S LANE The Nantucket Bas & Electric"Co';.raquested
permission to erect two pole locations on Lover's Lane.' The secretary·
was told to send out abutter's notices for a hearing which is to be
held October 1~ 1969. . ~' '.
OPENING RRADS TO THE PUBLIC 'Mr. Sangui6etti wrote in repiy to the
Selectmen's question on the legal aspects of closing off roads"by~
private individuals., Mr,.Sanguinetti indicated that for land-that has..
been Land Oourted,'the road may be closed if. it is not shown on ~he
Land Court Plan. For land that has not been through the Land Court, th~
Land Court will'accept roads that have been in use since "time~-'!'-
immemorial"~ In addition, Mr, Sanguinetti indicated the~necessary
steps to establish clearly Town rights of way. "~' .' ~','"~,~':· ',
VACATION Mrs. Olive Garrabrant requested her vacation for a two wee.k.
period beginning October 6th through October 19, 1969. There being no
objections to this request, it was so granted. -'.: .v.~
BARNSTABLE 'COUNTY FIRE SCHOOL·.'' Chief.Bartlett requested permission.to- '
send five or six men to the Barnstable County Fire School to be'held
October 4th and 5th Mr. Ernest Whelden made a motion that this'.'
r~quest be granted, it was seconded and so voted. .:: .. -

and went into Executive Session. '

'Supt; Oones:'~eported that the fence a~ound H~s' Willet,s p~ope~tv
includes pa~t of Weweede~ Avenue amd s~Ogested that the fence be
~elocated. A lette~ was ~eceived f~om ~rs 'Wille~ showing ~
considerable ~oncern about this matte~ and she plans to be here the-
weekend of Octobe~ 18, 1969 to discuss this matte~
