'A letter',and photos had been received f~om Chief Howes on this same matter, stating that the two. yellow lines in front of the gates at #3 Winter St.-were nGt legal.and'. referred.to Traffic Regulations Article ~, Section 5 which does not cove~ anything regarding gates. After considerable discussion r~ga'~dihg. yellow lines, congestion when school b~n~ns and ends and the thoughts of snowplowing this winter; Mr. Hale¥ made a motion to take this matte~ up in Executive Session, it was seconded and so voted. SMALL BOAT BASIN M~. Ch~istman was present to discus~ the Small boat . basin in the vicinity of-the Nantucket Boatya~d, Inc. 'He'stated that the Town owned land in the Creeks area and suggested that this be used.by the Town for a small boat Marina as there is enough property there'to park cars, etc. ~r. '~ ' U S.C.S 'PROPERTY The Boa~d was informed.that the U.S.C.G.'p~o'pertv,'".-' whi'ch is one of the Articles fo~ the Special Town Meeting,.had appraised at $26,000.00. The Finance Committee has ~ecommended $7,500.00 for this Article, and since the Town has to peV 50% of.the appraised ' value (~12,000.00), this leaves a balance of $6.500.00 to be raised. ~ Since a definite sum was not stated in the A~ticle, this balance can.be voted on the floor'at the Special Town Meeting.' _ sT'REET LIGHT .A'request from M~s. ST S LEADING TO PUBLIC BA~HIN6 BEACH A letter was ~ecei~ed from B.., Garfield Ray, Or. requesting that the Town build Some.steps leading to the beach from Hincklev. Lane. He has built'one for his own use and felt.the Town should do the same in orde~ to prevent erosion as so manV people. use this beach property; It was noted that.Hincklev Lane is an abuttors ~aV'i' hence the Town can take no action on the request. SANDPIPER RESTAURANT COmPLAINT"The Board requested that the Sec~etarv write a letter to ~iss Susan Wolofskv,': telling her that the owners of .tha~Sandpiper Restaurant hav~ been notified of thi~ letter and warned ~,of,any other such incidents.
