BOAT BONITA . A l~tter was received from the Dept.'of .Transporta- tion regarding the possibility.of transferring the.W.S.O.G. Boat."Point Bonita", stating that a study was in progress and final determination had not been reached. The Board was assured that adequate Coast Guard facilities will be provided in the Nantucket area. YELLOW LINES - NO PAR½IN6 A letter was received from Mrs. DaVid Hecht~ regarding the parking situation on Winter Street now that ½indergarten' has started, After considerable discussion, a motion was made, seconded ~ and voted to have Chief Howes assign one of his officers to control~this situation'and also protect the children and control speeding on this~ street. SLOW SIGNS D.P.W. Supt. Jones pr'esented a request from Mr. Cisco asking ~ for "Slow Signs" on both sides of his'driveway as this~is a blind corner. due to shrubs. Mr. Jones recommended that this request be denied as the shrubs causing the blind corner are on Mr. Cisco's property. ": YELLOW LINES The Board meceived a report from Supt. Jones on last week's requests for yellow lines from M~s.~Paradis and Mrs. Yerkes'~ ~He recommended that Mrs. Paradis' request be grant and that Mrs. Yerkes'' request~be denied as it will set a precedent. HWMMOOM POND ROAD & OlSCO ROAD INTERSECTION Supt..Jones recommended that the brush.be cut back at this intersection. Mr. Norcross made a motion to cut the brush back to the fence line, Mr. Haley seconded the motion and it was so voted. .' COMPLAINTS ON BARMING OF DOGS Mr. Stuart Day informed the Boa~rd that he had meceived several complaints about dogs barking during the night.and~: keeping people awake.~ He asked if the Board could set UP a time limit' when the dogs can be in the yard. Mr. Norcross made a motion that the hours for a dog to be out in the yard should be from 8:00 A.M. until . 6:00 P.M., and the dogs must be in the house no later than 6:00 P.M.. '" warrant No.'36 in the~amoont of $~2,358.il was approved by the Board 8OALLOP LICENSES Mr.'Allen Holdgate was present in regard to.the'ecal!~p licenses for 1969. New license forms will be printed. . ,. -~-.~ '' MADA~ET HARBOR DREDGING Mr. Allen Holdgate~'also asked if the'dredging at Madaket was at a standstill or would it be continued.this year. He was told that this project would be continued this.year as soon as more. money is appropriated to cover the bid submitted for this work.' MAOAHET PARHIN6 AREA Mr. Allen Holdgate'recommended clearing sa~d from Smith s Point parking area. This was referred to the D.P.W. The Board suggested that when the Penetrvn System, Inc. come down in October that Washington Btreet an~ Union Street should be taken care of first. CLAM SEASON A motion was.made, Seconded and voted that the familv.clam season would be opened September 21, 1969., ' ..... : SPECIAL'TOWN MEETING A motion was made,~seconded and voted to open the~ Warrant for a Special Town Meeting to be held 8eptember~25,.1969. The Articles to be brought up are as follows:· ARTICLE I To receive reports of the' various Depmrtments~ .- ~ and Committees which shall come before the.,. · 'me'eting.. - ' ' ' '~.: . ARTICLE 2 To see if~the Town will vote~the s~m of-four'~' · thousand, nine hundred eighteen and 50/lOOth~-~-~ "'- dollars to meet the Town's share of the'difference between the lowest bid a6d the.appropriation i~ .. Amticle 107,(1968) for dredging the Hither Creek Entrance Channel. ~' '- ...
