The first order of business should be the Surfside area. He should
report, to the Board of County Commissioners, the action being taken.

lOgO0 P.M. After some discussion, it was moved, seconded aOd voted
to deny,this application.
"q. TAXI STAND Eugene Viera informed the Board of the difficulties he is
having at the Taxi Stand on Federal Street and Main Street in regards
to obtaining a front line position even though it should.be his turn.
On a motion duly seconded, it was voted to have the secretary.write to
the Independent Taxi Association, attention Lucille Cahoon, informing
them of this report and request that they settle the dispute or be
subject to having the Taxi Stand on Federal Street removed.
5. COMMERCIAL STREET EASEMENT MrS. Gibbs and Mr. Barnes raised a
question on the easement on Uommercial Street as well as the lights
problem in this area. After some discussion and reference to Land
Court Plan #10752B, Chairman Holdgate told Mr. Barnes that'the Boar~
would confer with him in the near future regarding.this matter.
6. SMALL'BDA~ MOORING AREA Dr. Schelle questioned the Board regarding
the recent action in setting up a mooring-area between Commercial'
Wharf and the Boat Yard. He expressed concern of the safety of
Ldren swimming off the Francis Street Beach; particularly with boats
running through the swimming area. Chairman Hoidgate ordered the D.
P.W. to see that the area is properly bordered.
?~. PUBLIC WAYS'- SURFSIDE Mr. Driscoll and several 'of hie clients
repreffenting'Sbrfside'-east were present to discuss the recent legal'
action in regards to clearing public ways, particularly in Surfside.
Mr. Driscoll presented the Selectmen with e Settlement Agreement form,
a copy of which is appended to these minutes., After extended dis-
cussion in which the Surfside east representatives presented arguments
for not cutting brush or clearing Ways in Surfside, it was moved,
seconded and voted to take this mater under advisement. ~.. .,

was read. ..
