_ some discussion, a motion was made bV .Allen Norcross to instruct '
the~ D..P,~W. to install standard signs along both sides of New Whale ~
Street and from La Crepe to the Theatre. :
3. CHILDREN'S BEACH John Sulk'ivan observed t'hat the drinking fountain
'at ~--he Children's Beach had bee'fl removed.~ The'Dept' of. Public Works..
reported that the fountain was being stolen as fast as it was replaced
hence the unit had been kept off for a period of time
4. OLD CAR DISPOSAL Mr. Johnson discussed the matter of d~sposing of
.abandoned or junked cars in areas with and without by-laws. He ..~
recommended that action be taken to eliminate such cars.
5. POLE PERMIT A New Eng. Tel. & Telo Co. permit for [] buried cable
croeeing on Hummock Pond Road was approved.
6. CENTRE STREET CLOSING A letter from the First Congregational Church
requesting that Centre Street from Ash Lane to Lily Street be closed.to
traffic from 12:00 noon until 5:30 P.N, on August 14th was read.
Approval'was granted.- A copy of the letter is to be sent to the F~re
and Police Departments.
7. FOOD DISPENSING LICENSES A'req'uest from Albert C stackpole for
food handling license at the A & T Diner, 38 Centre'Street was approved '
subject to inspection. .
i'8. MOTORCYCLE PERMIT A request from Charles McLean for a permit,to .
operate a motorcycle between Shell St., i~ Siasconset, and Gibson's,':-.
on Main Street was approved subject to the route being via Washington
and Union Streets. ~ -..

a. A letter was received complaining about' the sound of the Town
Clock at night. No action was taken.
b. A lette~ from Mr. &'Mrs. E~nest Tripp concerning'noise eminating ..
from the Chicken Box Restaurant and the Boys Club was received.;'-The ~ !'
secretary was instructed to write a letter to both requesting that~

12. STRAIGHT WHARF FISH CLEANING' A letter fr~m John Welch'was noted...
The note states that Sherburne Associates plan to install a fence around
the fish cleaning area for safety reasons
13. HITHER CREE6 DREDGING The plans and specifications for. Coat,act
#2672 State Dept. of Public ~orks for dredging Hither Creek at Madaket
Harbor were received. Bids are to be opened on August 12, 1969. On
motion by Allen NorcrOss, it was voted to request a State D.P.W."
Engineer to visit and discuss problems relating to this project~ '

should be in the 19?O Warrant arding sign board permits.
